Is there really such  thing as magic? Like when a pumpkin would turn out to be a huge elegant horse-drawn vehicle; a kiss that can wake up a sleeping princess; a beast that would be as handsome as a prince; a frog that woud reveal itself as a human; a mermaid that would make herself a woman; a bite of an apple that would make you as good as dead; a land where no one gets old; or even dusts that will let you fly.

Those things never exist.

There are no wishing wells, pixie dusts, fairy godmothers, magic wand and fairies. They only exist on fairy tales. They aren't real.

Because absolutely, there is no such thing as magic. Period.

When I was a kid, I was made to believe that there is magic. But when I began to grew older, professional people keeps on telling us that magic wasn't real. It is only in our imagination. And that magic is impossible.

As I took my doctoral degree on medicine, my professor would always tell us that there is no magic and miracle. There are no impossible things that can happen. As doctors, we have to keep in mind that everything has an explanation and is related in science and that things that aren't meant to be cannot happen.

I remembered when he told us that those patients who claims miracle were just driven by hallucinations that were caused by the high dosages of medicine they've taken. So it wasn't real when patients start claiming like they saw a shining stairway and heard a voice telling them it wasn't their time yet; or they somehow fight with a man in black holding a scythe and they just won the battle with him so they turned back to life. None of those are real. Sick people are healed by medicines and medical pharaphernalias.

Everything is related in science and have scientific explanations. Even love. It wasn't because of a little angel with bow and arrow that you was attracted to someone. You feel in love because of the neurons working all over your hypothalamus. It wasn't magic when you feel like everything around you starts to move in slow motion everytime you see the person you love. Your heart and brain are just working together to make-believe the slow-motion-factor.

Love is not magical.
Love is something that is scientific.

And I was taught not to believe in magic.

And I live my life in a world where magic don't exist.

Well, not until one day. Until a woman told me there is.
