The Special Gift

He looked away.

"I know you hate being embarrassed in front of a crowd," he said.

I paused in confusion, "What do you mean?"

Kaii didn't answer for a few seconds. Instead, he turned around to take a breather then turn back towards me. He had a look of depression on his face. Although it wasn't so sad, it was sort of, blank.

"I love you. I really do, Max. I want to show you how much I love you," he shakingly exclaimed.

"Kaii, you don't have to yell," I said softly.

"No. I want everyone here to know that you are mine, Max. And I will never. Ever. Let you go," He paused and looked at me. I was in complete shock and silence. I couldn't say anything to him at all. Him saying that so suddenly in a crowd, makes me realize that he really does love me. He cares for me; more than anyone I've ever dated before. He is the one person to change everything for me in a positive way. I love him, and I don't want to ever let him go either.

"K-Kaii. . ." I stuttered.

He stopped me from speaking any more. He came close to me and kissed me for the very first time. He held my cheeks as I closed my eyes slowly. Passionately kissing me, Kaii moved his hands to different locations on my body. One of his hands moves up to hold my chin and the other moves down to hold my waist closer to his body. Before ending the passionate kiss, he slightly sucked my bottom lip to show sexual tension. Then, his lips slowly parted away from mine and smiled down at me. He backed away. .

and got down on one knee.

Everyone starts whispering to each other and stared at us in shock. I blush hard while covering my mouth. I'm speechless. I have no idea what Kaii is doing or what he is planning to do. All I can do is just stand there in awe.

"Max," he starts.

Still standing silent, he takes my hand. All of this feels so unreal. like a fairy tale. Like we were two princes from two very different worlds.

"I'm not asking you to be my husband--"

Yet I think to myself, as I laugh in my mind.

"--but I am promising you something," he continues as he pulls out a little box from his pocket.

Katelyn comes back after realizing that she didn't notice Kaii and I stopping in the middle of the mall. She saw Kaii down on his knee and immediately got out her camera to record everything. She thought that I may want to rewatch this moment later on in the future.

Kaii opened the box and took out a little silver ring that had no jewels on it. All it had was an engraving, that I couldn't read from where I was standing.

"I bought this and had it specially made for you," he explained to me.

He held my hand closer to him and slowly slid the ring onto my pointer finger. I could finally read the engraving on the top. It read FOREVER & ALWAYS in cursive. I blushed as he stood up. The mall went dead silent once he kissed me once more. Quickly kissing me, I still felt passion in the feel of his lips against mine.

"I will always love you, Max," he whispered.
