Chapter twelve

Rose's P.O.V (Jynx)

Everyone stopped dead in their tracks and turned to look at where Dove and Beast Boy faced Poison Ivy.

Thorn sucked in a sharp breath, "No way, it can't be. She's supposed to still be in the Gotham City orphanage!"

Poison Ivy looked just as shocked as she stared at the thorny vines her rose wall had stopped mere centimeters from her face. "No Thorn, it's her," her eyes filled with tears, "Oh my little bud!" she flung herself at Dove, only to be knocked back by Beast Boy who'd turned into a T-Rex and had hit her with his tail.

Jester was suddenly moving, "That's it sonny get her!" Joker called out before bursting into laughter, only for it to fade when Raven sent Jester flying into a stunted Thorn about the same time Robbin kicked Joker himself into a nearby wall.

"Get Dove out of here!" Robbin shouted, Star, Cye and I all jumped into action.

"Come on!" Cyborg called out as he led the way towards an alleyway.

Starfire grabbed Dove's hand and started towards the alley while i covered our retreat. Dove had tears streaming down her cheeks as we all continued through town using alleys.

Starfire and I shared a look, "Dove are you alright?" I asked as I moved up to her left side.

Dove shook her head, "I used powers that I swore I'd never use again, and now the whole team's in danger all because of me."

Starfire moved up on her right side and placed a comforting arm over her shoulder , "It will be the fine." she cooed softly, "And we will not allow them to hurt you."

The alley was suddenly filled with sinister female laughter. "You'll protect her from us?' it was Poison Ivy and Thorn.

Thorn scowled at the arm Starfire still had on Dove's shoulder. "You don't need to protect her from us," she snarled, "After all she's my baby sister!"

Dove was shaking like a leaf as she tried to hide in plain sight. Poison Ivy noticed this, "Oh honey it's okay," she took a step forward, "Mommy's here."

Suddenly there was a bout of insane laughter, "Oh that's right Titans," Joker laughed as Jester shoved Raven, Beast Boy, and Robbin into the alley to stand with us, "Little Dovey is Ivy and my daughter," he laughed again, "This makes her Thorny and Jester's sister!"
