Chapter Thirteen

Richard's P.O.V (Robbin)

I turned to look at Dove in shock, 'She's their daughter, she lied to us, kick her out!' my mind screamed at me. Dove was still shaking slightly, and tears started to stream down her cheeks as she moved to stand between the rest of us and the villains.

"You're no parents of mine!" she screamed, every last word was laced with pain. "My parents are dead," she spat out the words one by one, "They died the day I was sent to that orphanage!" she turned sad eyes on Thorn and Jester, "I don't know where my older brother and sister wound up, but I do know that they would never behave like you!"

She was so busy screaming that she didn't notice the small flowering plant that was growing to wind around her leg. "Friend Dove look-" Starfire never got to finish her warning call. Right at that moment the flowers opened releasing some form of sleeping powder or gas that covered Dove from head to toe.

Before any of us could reach her Poison Ivy was just suddenly there and caught her as she fell. I watched stunned as she tore away Dove's mask to cradle the winged girl in her arms. "Oh Jade," she sobbed softly surprising the rest of us, "My little bud," she sniffled, "I've finally got you back." That's when the sound of police sirens finally reached my ears, "Damn it," Ivy cursed, "Joker you take care of the titans, I'll get the kids out of here!"

Joker nodded, "Right!" the last thing I saw before the entire team was covered in knock-out gas, was Dove being carried away by the villains, the Joker's crazed smile turn to a frown, and a familiar bat shaped shadow.
