The noise. It woke everyone from their slumber. The rumble that caused the rocks to fall from the mountain down to the camp. The boulders came down with a thundering crash. The stones boomed as they rolled down the snow covered mountains. The group sprung to their feet and gathered what they could before saddling their horses and riding through the crevice of the mountain. There was no time to salvage the camp as they would be crushed instantly. The groups exit was compromised as a huge rock toppled to the ground. They only had one choice to escape their doom. They had to climb the mountain. They left their horses at the foot of the steep climb and then they scaled their way up. They reached a cave where they took shelter from the unfortunate event. "That was the last of the food!" moaned Balin.

"It does not matter," replied Gandalf, "We must get to Radagast at once!"

"Can you not see what's going on outside?!" Bilbo frantically shouted.

This caused everyone to argue.

"Calm down everyone," declared Thorin, "Gandalf is the one who knows what he's doing!"

"We are going to find Radagast!" shouted Gandalf.

But just as they left the cave, they heard the sound of the great goblins minions

"RUN!" Shouted Fili

"Pull yourself together, brother!" Replied Kili.

The group prepared themselves to fight but then it fell silent. The rumble was back. The path between the mountains split open releasing a mighty sound. Something was coming out of the huge crack. Something far bigger than anything the group had faced before.

The thing was emerging from the ground. It let out a mighty ear piercing roar. The ground continued to rumble and shake as it slowly submerged from the ground. The group looked for a way to escape but it was no use, they would have to face the mighty beast. It was upon them now. It's eyes locked from across the mountain with Gandalf, as if they had a connection.

"Wait here." Said Gandalf

"But-" replied Bombur

"I said, wait here!" Interrupted Gandalf

The group let him run out the mouth of the cave as he slid down the mountain caped in white using his staff to guide himself.

He had reached the beast. It had the legs of a goblin, the arms of an orc and the mouth of a spider. It was an abomination. It stood as tall as a skyscraper compared to Gandalf. The beast knocked him to the ground as the great goblin's minions closed in. The rest of the group screamed at the top of their lungs as they lunged down the mountain to attack the army and the beast, but in all the commotion, the beast impaled Gandalf with its huge nails. He let out a bloodcurdling yell as his body toppled to the ground, his robe soaked in blood. It was the mere end of Gandalf...

"NO! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS YOU ABOMINATION SCUM!" Screamed Thorin as he ran to Gandalf's lifeless body.

"Oh my goodness!" Let out Bilbo, "Is he okay?!"

"Our leader, is-is-is dead..." exclaimed Dwalin.

The beast moved the boulder and the army got away.

Thorin shed a single tear which dropped onto the body of his deceased best friend.

"To soon," he whispered, "To soon..."
