Maxwell's POV
It's been a week since Freak has died. His funeral was just yesterday, and nearly everyone was there. Me, Gram, Grim, Gwen, even Loretta was there. I was a total wreck. Everyone else was too, but I was the worst. He was my best friend. He was the half of me that will never be replaced. I've been hanging out in the down under much more than ever. Gram and Grim always want me to come up, but I never do.
I can't do it without Kevin, I just can't. I haven't gone to school since Kevin died because I know people will feel sorry for me and I don't need it. Even Tony D. felt sorry for me. I need him.
And that's when I thought that's it. I can't be without him for any longer. I jumped out of the window leading to my room and was heading to the graveyard. The graveyard is pretty far from here, but that didn't stop me.
"Maxwell, where are you heading?" Gram asked.
"I'll be home for supper." I said.
But I never came back.
