The time they told their parents...

Lilly:

It was 4:58am here in L.A. which means its 7:58pm in Canada. My dad would be at work, he gets off at 9, and my mom should be home chilling, unless she has some errands to run. I can't believe I'm about to call them and tell them I was getting married to Yousef in two days! Me and Yousef decided not to tell them about Arial and that she's the reason why we tied the knot so soon. They might not approve of the conditions or might not approve of Arial. Me and Yousef said that no matter what their decisions are we weren't giving up on Arial. I'm nervous and scared, I've lied to my parents before but not about something so big. Just then Yousef grabs my hand and squeezes it, "you got this, we're in this together remember" he said. "you're right, but I just don't want to disappoint them, you know?" I said. "I feel the same way but we have to do this for Lauren and Alex. They're counting on us" he said. "yeah that's true, okay here goes nothing" I said as I hit the call button on my keypad.

M: "sat sri akal" (hello)

L: "hi mom it's me"

M: "LILLY! how are you? How's it like being back in L.A.?"

L: "I'm good and I sort of missed L.A., I'm glad I came back. How's Tina and dad?"

M: "they are all good, I'll tell them you called and said hi"

L: "thanks mom"

M: "Lilly why do I feel like you're hiding something? I'm your mother you shouldn't be scared to talk to me"

L: "you're right, I do have something to tell you but before I tell you I want you to promise me you won't freak out and you'll listen to everything I have to say before you judge me, okay?"

M: "Lilly you're scaring me a little, but I have faith you'd never do anything bad that would same our family. I promise to listen to everything you have to say first and I promise not to freak out"

L: "okay..." Yousef squeezes my hand harder to reassure me that everything is going to be okay, that calms my nerves down a little "mom I'm getting married in two days and would love it if you were here with me"

M: "HAHAHAHA very funny Lilly, now tell me what really going on"

L: "I'm not joking mom, I really am getting married"

M: "okay, so who is the groom?"

L: "Yousef"

M: "WHAT! You want me to believe that?! Didn't he break your heart and leave you, that's why you stopped YouTube for a while and he's the reason you were sad again and locked yourself in your room for five months"

L: "it's the truth I swear mom, and yes he was the reason why I was depressed for a while but he's changed and so have I. we were young and careless"

M: "Lilly 28 isn't young"

L: "mom please, it's my decision and I'm choosing to marry him weather you approve or not."

M: "why are you marrying him so fast? Are you pregnant?"

L: "WHAT! PREGNANT?! NO!" I look at Yousef's reaction and see his face go pale and his jaw drops, I want to laugh at his reaction but this wasn't a laughing matter, plus my mom wouldn't believe another word that came out of my mouth if I laughed. I guess we didn't think that people might think that's the reason why we're getting married so fast, in any other scenario that might be the case.

M: "then why so fast? You two haven't talked to each other in 5 years, correct"

L: "yeah..."

M: "Lilly how do you expect me and your father to agree? You've changed and so has he but what if he's changed for the worst? Get to know him, let us meet him and then let us decide"
