"I'm excused from work today so I can spend time with you my little dumpling~" Madeleine squeals as she squeezes my cheeks. It's 8am and I still have jetlag. "Unnie! It's impossible for you to get a day-off with a high ranked job! How--" I flash a glare, but was interrupted by her index finger pressed against my lips. "Aiigoo~ You don't need to know! Why don't you and I drive around Seoul since you're new here, hm?" She grins and grabs her bag and heads for the door as I dress up into my white long sleeves on top of a fluffy winter coat and denim dark-blue skinny jeans. "I'll be driving you around, since it's the weekend and alot of people are packed in the public subways and buses. It's a mess out there~" Madeleine makes a cute, disgusted face and drags you out of your apartment.
"First stop, Gangnam!" Madeleine happily hops into the driver seat and starts up the car. I get into the front seat and buckled my seatbelt on. "Since you're too young to go clubbing here in Gangnam," Madeleine pouts as we drive off. "You and I can just check out COEX mall and their streets, drive by some traditional Korean museums, and.." She pauses. "And?" I said in confusion. Madeleine gave me that 'mhm yeah y'know what I'm talkin' about' look. "Maybe visit your beloved glossy* boyfriend." (*A/N: Yoongi is also a Korean word for polish/or gloss, so Madeleine pretty much made a bad pun there lol) I flashed her a glare, followed by a happy grin. "Unnie! He's not my boyfriend! I'm just a fan though.." my smile disappears slowly as Madeleine-unnie pats me on the back. "Hey, why the glum face? At least you'll get to see him! You don't need all those posters and standees that you have at home when you can see him face-to-face!" She laughs. Madeleine-unnie always cheers me up when I feel down.
[FLASHBACK]
It was middle school. I stood on the edge of my school rooftop, crying. After all these years of me in school, I was alone. My parents are living abroad and they're too busy with work. My classmates would tease me, hurt me, and talk behind my back. What's wrong with being different? Just because I wasn't like them doesn't mean I have to be picked on."Is THIS what you want?!" I scream, while tears running down my eyes, as they all look above, alongside with ambulances on stand-by, and police persuading me from below, telling me not to jump.
"Oh. So this is the only time they care." I said under my breath. I look down to my arms, all scarred with cuts and bruises. "Only NOW they care."
I close my eyes and take my last step, until,
"Stop!" I heard a voice from behind me. I turn around and I see Madeleine, her face all red from crying,-- and running up the stairs.
"If you jump, I don't know what my purpose in life would be for anymore." she sniffles. "You mean alot to me, Kate. I-I know you haven't known me properly, but.. Don't do this. We're all still young and we have more to explore." She slowly walks closer, while I move back bit-by-bit. "Being unique is the best. It's like being the queen of all the rest who are different than you."
I backed up a little bit more and accidentally slip, about to fall off the building til Madeleine quickly grabs for my waist and pulls me away from the edge, as we both fall down to the ground, crying as hard as we could ever in our entire life.
"W-who are you?" I sniffled, while hugging Madeleine tightly. Madeleine hugs back tightly and says, "I'm Madeleine, I'll take care of you."
[END OF FLASHBACK]Madeleine parked our car at the basement parking area and got out. "We're just going to stay here for only a few minutes, I need to buy something." Madeleine says as she gets her bag and locks the car. I nodded and timidly follows her from behind.
