3. The Christmas Card
Today, I received a Christmas card. That may seen innocent enough, but when I opened it I saw she had crossed out "Christ" on the front and inside the card.
Because I had received it through a third party, I wasn't sure who the card was from. My first guess was that it was Danielle, playing a cruel joke on me. It seemed like the kind of thing she would do. Then I opened it and saw it was from one of my friends.
I didn't really know how to react to it. She has not said anything negative about my beliefs, but Danielle and her are quite close. I didn't know if she did it to try and show support of my beliefs or to try and hurt me, In the end she did both. I chose to see it as a goodwill gesture and thanked her, but I cannot stop thinking she was trying to say that "Christ was out of my life", which, though I don't believe in Jesus is still quite a hurtful thing to say.
On a more positive note I was wished a happy Yule by my Headmaster on the last day of school. I don't know if he knew about my beliefs or they were his own, or even if he was just using Yule instead of Christmas. However, it made me smile for the rest of the day.
Also, I think I have found a connection to my Patron God. I want to chose a God who is Patron of healing, because I've been in and out of hospital a lot this year. I'll post any developments on here as normal.
I hope you all had a happy Yule!
