Kara walked down the frosty lane, the snow from the dark, midnight sky falling on her and melting to water on her hands, reminding her how quickly things fall apart. She pulled her coat closer to her body, the night was the coldest in a while. She listened as the footsteps she made created a soft crunch in the snow beneath her feet, she looked back and saw her footprints in the snow. This worried her, they would be able to trace her, she just hoped the snow would fall heavily tonight. She heard a crack. Kara worriedly turned and looked past her snow covered shoulder, there was no one there.

She carried on into the night, her auburn hair blowing against the wind. Snow was falling onto her eyelashes, it was falling heavily now. When she was around half way through an alley way she just passed into, she felt something cold and metallic on her shoulder, she gulped. It was them, they had found her.

She turned around and stared into the soul-less eyes of the person in front of her. It was a man. A man with cold eyes and an evil stare. He was holding a gun.

" Did you really think you could escape from us?"  He asked.

Kara looked down. How could she escape now, she thought long and  hard. She then reacted fast, she punched the man in the nose and began to run, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her, her breathing was heavy and she felt faint.

Suddenly she heard a loud bang and she felt a sharp pain in her arm. She fell to the ground screaming. The pain was unimaginable and it was absorbing her whole body. She put a hand to her arm, then she looked at her hand, scarlet blood had stained her whole hand, she then looked at the snow next to her, it was stained red also. She could feel the darkness taking over her whole body.

" You will never know " She shouted at her attacker, using all of the strength she had left.

" Well  I guess we will not need you anymore then, you will be terminated..."

Kara knew what this meant, though she barely had the energy to think. The Darkness was grabbing her and sucking out all of her life and dragging her into the abyss. She felt like she was being suffocated by this creature. Then  she heard another bang, this time she felt almost no pain. The bullet had gone to her head. This she had known, would be the day she died.

Her attacker looked at the body in the middle of the road, he did not care that he was the one who had caused her demise, he was only darkness now and darkness had no empathy.
