Titles: Forest, Curiosity Killed Them, The Forest Killed Them, The Mystery Behind the Forest, The Mysteries Within the Trees

Year: 2028

Setting: Pangea type of world, all countries and whatnot are very, very close to one another. Bridges (EX: San Fran Golden Bridge distance away)

Post disaster: Bombs? Air raid? War with ISIS, therefore they bombed the majority of the world?

30 people (Or however number of people in writers' club) venture into the Japanese Suicide Forest out of curiosity since it's the only thing that still stands in the broken and mistreated society filled with the corpses of many friends and loved ones, and even neighbors and strangers. (why is the society like this? Is trump or Clinton in office? did another world war start?)

--2nd most popular place to take one's life, first is Golden Gate Bridge (2003)

Forest "refuses" to let the group leave and the spirits inside the forest come alive and start messing with the heads of the group members, talking about their future death and how their loved ones died and suffered and such. This causes a few people to take their own lives to stop the voices (too dark? do all of the members survive?) Along the way of their quest, they find skeletons with messages from the past and the group finds out, after looking at their phones (or whatever) that they have traveled back to the year of 1953-the year when the government  signed the "Korean Armistice Agreement [which] is [what] ended the Korean War" (Wiki) which is a bordering country to China and Japan. These notes are telling others who walk into the forest how the government is lying to everyone (something along these lines maybe?)

These notes help create a timeline going to the current year that they left when entering the forest. The members find out what caused the world war or whatever disaster and find a way to make a difference before the year of 2028- possible time travelers?

Once the group leave the forest(when it allows them to), 10 remain.

20 others either ended their lives, or were killed trying to interfere with the past.

They enter 2028 with their society alive and well with living people who are happy, and unaware of what would have happened if the members hadn't gone into the forest.

Then suddenly a bomb comes out of no where, killing everyone who was within the radius. Members are panicking, thinking "what did we miss?!"

Do they go back into the forest to try and fix whatever happened? Or do they live in the society that they created by messing with the past?
