Imagine: You find out he lied to you/Ashton Irwin.

You were beginning to wonder about Ashton for the past few days. Every time one of the boys would come around, he would make you go somewhere else or not leave you alone in the same room as them. You thought it was strange because he's never had a problem with you hanging out with them before, why would he have a problem now?

It was a Friday night and you had a terrible day. First things first, you woke up only to find out that you had started your period. Of course, you were running late for work and your car wouldn't start. Last but not least, once you got to work, your boss piled a bunch of work on you causing you to stay longer than you wanted to. You couldn't complain too much considering your boss didn't make a big deal about you being late. Ashton was supposed to pick you up from work but he wasn't answering his phone; so you were stuck with walking home. Not that it's too far away, it's just that you've seen the movies. You know what could happen.

As you were approaching your driveway, you saw Ashton's car parked in the driveway along with three other vehicles that belonged to none other than Luke, Michael, and Calum. Was it bad to say that you weren't all that mad? You enjoy walking home, in fact, it helped release some stress that you had built up throughout the day. You were welcomed home by laughter and the television that was blasting gun fire through the speakers. Call of Duty, you thought.

You walked up the stairs, after taking your shoes and coat off, and gave Ashton a quick kiss on the cheek, "Hello babe," you looked over at the boys, "friends." You felt a tension in the air but chose to ignore it. You noticed their gaze was fixated on Ashton.

"Oh shit. I forgot to pick you up, didn't I?" Ashton asked, finally realizing why all eyes were on him. You smiled, "It's okay. I don't mind walking. Do you guys want anything to drink or snack on?"

All the boys enthusiastically nodded their heads while their eyes went wide from something happening on the game. You began walking into the kitchen when you heard Michael excuse himself from the others. You begin to pull out cookie dough and preheat the oven to the correct temperature, not thinking much about why Michael would follow you into the kitchen. He coughed, "So um, I need to tell you something about Ashton. I think you deserve to know."

Your heart began beating rapidly against your rib cage and your hands were starting to sweat. What was it that you needed to know? He wasn't cheating on you was he? That would explain why he's been acting so differently lately. You weren't stupid. You knew something was up, you just didn't know what. Before Michael could speak any further, Ashton cut him off with a glare and clear venom in his voice, "I think it's time for you guys to go. It's getting late."

"Ash, it's eight o'clock." You argued. Now you were beginning to get irritated. You were going to get answers rather they came from the boys or Ashton himself; you preferred Ashton. You'd much rather hear whatever this is from your boyfriend. Luke walked into the kitchen with Calum and said, "No, we have to go anyway. We'll talk to you later, hopefully." After that, they were heading out the door. You waited until you heard the sound of the door closing before looking over at Ashton, "What do they mean by hopefully?"

You had your arms crossed across your chest and all your weight shifted onto your right leg. "Baby, lets just talk about this later." Ashton whined, reaching out to touch you but you backed away. "No, I want to talk about it right now. I'm sick and tired of you acting like this. You get all nervous whenever I step anywhere around the boys. I've felt a tension, the past few days, between you and the boys the moment I come around. Did I do something wrong? Do they hate me now? Tell me, what did I do? Because I don't want to come between you and your-"

Ashton had cut you off, "You were a bet."

Silence filled the air. Did you hear that correctly?

"I'm sorry a what? A bet? What do you mean a bet?"

He remained quiet. His eyes stared at the floor, obviously not being able to look at you. Already you could feel the tears making their way to your eyes, but you swallowed the lump in your throat and stood strong, "Ashton," you snapped your fingers in front of his face, "what do you mean by a bet?"

He had a trail of tears rolling down his cheeks, "It means that I faked being interested in you at the very beginning of our relationship. After the show in (Y/H/T), Michael and I had been talking about how long we could last dating a fan. I picked out a fan for Michael and Michael picked a fan out for me." You couldn't believe what you were hearing. Is he serious? How could he do that to you? Not only you, but the other fan as well. You blinked away the tears, fighting so hard to keep them away but a few managed to slip. Now it was your turn to speak, "Wow," you smiled weakly, "so you were faking the entire time?"

The sound of your voice cracking, broke Ashton's heart. He knew he completely shattered yours just now but he was going to fight for you. He was going to make things right. "Baby, I tried to. I couldn't fake something that I truly felt. I fell in love with you by the end of our first date. That's why I called off the bet that night. I told Michael that I wanted no part in it and I wasn't going to tell you because it was no longer a bet." By now you were pacing around in the kitchen, wiping away at your wet face, "How do I know you're not lying? How can you expect me to trust you now after you just told me this? I honestly believed that I was some lucky fan that you thought was beautiful and that you wanted to get to know me. I should've known that it was part of some fucking bet. Why would Ashton Irwin want anything to do with me? How could someone like me attract the eyes of someone like you? God, I was so stupid for believing you."

Red. All you could see was red. You were angry. Pissed. Furious. Words that can't even describe how angry you are. You had tunnel vision; everything was such a blur.

"It's not like that. I literally fell in love with your laugh and the way your skin would crinkle by your eyes every time you smiled. I fell in love with the stories you told me about you growing up, I fell in love with your interests, your hobbies, and your ideas for the future. I fell in love with your past and your voice and how you speak with your hands and most of all; I fell in love with you. I can't fake that I'm madly in love with you."

Ashton had your face cupped in his hands and he spoke every word while looking straight into your eyes. You so badly wanted to kiss him right then and there. When all of a sudden, this overwhelming sadness developed inside of your heart.
He's just faking, you thought.
He's never going to love you.
He's Ashton Irwin, he can have any female he wants.
What makes you think he wants you?
Your thought process started to tear you down. You grew insecure and wanted to get away from it all.

"You have to believe me, Y/N." His lips were just barely brushing against yours when you put your hand on his chest to stop him, you backed away, "I can't. I-I'm sorry, I have to go."

With that, you put your shoes and coat back on and left. You weren't going to look back.
