TW: SELF HARM
Cas pulled the bloody blade away from his arm. He was crying hard. He didn't know how this helped, but it did a little. He wiped the blade on a red towel and hid his biggest secret in a fake bottom to his desk drawer. He wiped the blood off of his arm and put on a black, long sleeved, suit shirt, and his dark blue jeans.
With the lack of pain in his arm subsiding, he grabbed his purple book bag and walked out the door. Cas tossed his book bag onto his desk and sat down. He stared up at the jock in the front row of the desks. Dean Winchester. Cas's friend put her hand on his arm. "Long sleeves again, Cas? It's over 90 degrees." Cas broke out of her grasp.
"I'm fine, Rachel."
"Did you cut again?" she whispered. Cas pulled up his sleeve. "Cas! Why did you start again?"
"I missed it I guess."
"I swear cutting is worse than drugs." Dean looked back at the two friends in the corner and winked at Cas, but it was mistaken for a wink at Rachel. Cas looked away and pulled down his sleeve. "Please stop cutting."
"No. I can't stop. Nobody can stop me." Rachel patted Cas's shoulder and sat down.
After class was over, Cas and Dean were the last to leave. Cas walked down the hallway and accidentally bumped into a jock named Jack. "Watch where you're walking loser!" Cas didnt respond. "Look at me when I'm talking to you!" Jack shoved Cas into the lockers. Cas bent over and picked up his things. Jack grabbed Cas by the collar of his shirt. Cas looked at the annoying jock. "Hey! Pick on someone your own size!" Jack looked over to see Dean.
"Really Winchester? Since when do you stick up for gothic losers?"
"Castiel isn't a loser!" Dean yelled. Jack turned to look at Cas and punched him in the face. Cas didn't feel it, therefore Cas didn't react. Jack punched Cas again, and again, and again. Cas started bleeding, but he felt no pain. Dean pulled Jack away from Cas. "C'mon, I'll take you to the nurse." Dean grabbed Cas's bookbag and walked him to the nurse.
"Why'd you help me?" Cas asked.
"I have two reasons. One, Jack's a dick. Two, you're kinda cool."
"An openly gay, depressed nerd is cool?"
"To me." They walked into the nurses office.
"What happened, Castiel?"
"Just a bully. I'm fine."
"That looks like it hurts."
"No. I don't feel the pain." Dean walked out.
"Could he be...? No. He's not a monster, but what is he? He never eats at lunch and he feels no pain..." Dean thought.
The nurse patched up Cas's face and sent him back to class. Cas sat down in the back corner and Dean sat next to him. "What do you want, Dean?"
