Alone.

That's constantly how I feel. The only people who have stayed with me are my mom and sister. Everyone else left because I'm not good enough for them. My hair, not good enough. My looks, not good enough. My clothes, not good enough. I'm just never good enough for anyone.

"Addison just come on. It's one party,"Gab whines, clutching her books.

"Fine,"I agree, crumbling under my sisters puppy dog eyes.

Gabriella squeals and pulls me to the party. Once we are there, I sit in the corner reading a book. That's what I was going to do all night, stay invisible but my mom dragged me inside the building.

People were announcing the next two karaoke singers. To try and go unnoticed, I stuff my face into my book. My plan utterly failed when the spot light landed on me. Gabriella pushes me on stage next to a cute boy. As I observe his face a microphone is shoved into my hand.

The boy I don't know starts singing and when it's my turn, I rush off the stage. I'm not able to stand up there in front of a crowd and sing. It's just something I seriously can't do unless people want me to faint. The random boy throws his microphone on the floor and runs after me for some unknown reason.

"You okay?"He asks, gently turning me around.

"No, I'm not okay. I can't stand on a stage and sing my heart out without fainting. I can't stand in front of a crowd and do anything without fainting,"I snap and realise that I just snapped at him.

"I'm sorry, I'm just not up to it,"I shrug and he nods.

"It's okay, I understand. I'm Troy by the way,"He smiles and hands me his phone, confusing me even more.

"Type your number in,"He says and I laugh.

"I don't have a phone. I'm more of a book person rather than a technology person,"I explain, smiling slightly at him.

"Oh right,"He says and we both stare up at the fireworks.

As he was about to speak, my sister drags me into the house. She pulls me to our mothers car and grins. Gabriella puts a hand on her hips, indicating that she wants all the details and that's exactly what I give her.
