Chapter 2: The Visitor

Faiths POV

Im sitting in a pool full of chocolate with Matt ( who I may or may not have a crush on). Suddenly he come over to me and starts jumping on me.

I jolt awake to my sister lauren jumping on my bed. why can't I have my own room?

It's stupid question to ask. " Get off" she climbs off and skips down to the smell of pancakes.

Wait? Pancakes?! Breakfast?! I'm the one to make the meals.

I brush my hair quick and put on my slippers.

This isn't mom.

I enter the kitchen to see my grandma Beth getting plates out of the cabinet. She lives in Florida and mom never has time to take us anywhere so I never see grandma.

I run up behind her and hug her. "It's so great to see you!" I exclaim

" Faith is that you?" She turns around and smiles at me. " my oh my Faith honey, the last time I saw you, I was taller than you!" "Now look at you!"

"Grandma what are you doing here?" I asked suspiciously.

"Well, your mother actually called me up and asked me to stay here while your in collage. She needs a little help with the kids."

A 'little' help? Yeah ok. I can't believe that woman agreed to watch the kids, for not a few months, but a few YEARS!

I was just about to thank her when I hear the door slam. Drunk as hell, my mother stumbles in the room.

"Hey Beth, take this cucumber, wait why are you here?" Me and grandma look at each other and I sigh.

This is what I have to deal with everyday.

Grandma takes mom who is about to barf upstairs.

" Why is mommy acting funny?" Lauren ( who's only 4) asks me.

I don't answer.

" BREAKFAST!" I yell, and I hear footsteps running down the stairs. I make plates for everyone and I scarf down a blueberry pancake.

After I go and get changed into casual clothes

"Peace, I'm going shopping, be good!" I grab my keys and head off to get a whole new wardrobe.

I hope grandma can handle everyone, especially mom.
