"Wow, she seems very upset," Mason says to me after the dilemma with Naomi.
"Yeah, I think she..... never mind," I say, thinking that Naomi sees us as her own kids, but I quickly erase the thought, thinking that it sounded stupid.
"Cassandra and Mason Snare," somebody says behind in a deep voice. We turn, and I nearly faint at the sight in front of me.A tall intimidating man towers over us, as we crane our necks to look up at him. He is at least eight foot, and very, very, VERY muscular. He is bald, except for a bushy blonde mustache, and a small blonde hair loop.
"I am Major Alex Louise Armstrong, also known as the Strong arm Alchemist," he bellows, ripping his shirt off. Underneath, he's very built. He has an eight pack, and very large biceps.
"My glorious body is a trait that has been passed down through the Armstrong family for generations!" Armstrong rants. Mason and I stay quiet at the monstrosity before our eyes. Before I know it Mason turns away.
"Ah! My poor eyes, I can't take it!!!! They burn!!!!!" Mason shrieks. My jaw swings open at his reaction to the situation. Sure Major Armstrong clearly was full of himself, but he still shouldn't freak out like that. I stare between the two, stunned. Mason's reaction shut Armstrong up, but he glares down at Mason. I knew that Mason was a dead man walking, so I smack him alongside his head. He yells, and faces me, rubbing his head.
"Seriously?!? You couldn't have acted more immature than that!" I scold him.
"Nobody should be that open about their body or ego!!!" Mason objects.
"I would watch it, he could be training us for all we know," I snarl, tempted to transmute a cement block to his face.
"Oh....." He says, realizing his mistake. I nod, and turn towards Armstrong.
"I'm truly sorry for my moron brother. So why'd you come to get us?" I apologize.
"Well, you'll be training with the military's State Alchemists for this week, then you'll be able to become State Alchemists after our training," he responds. I notice a faint magenta, diamond sparkle around his head. He then motions for us to stand up, and follow him out the doorway. We do so, and he takes us through the doors, and outside.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"You will start to have to get accustomed to training with these State Alchemists," Armstrong explains. A line of men stand before us, all in a stiff salute.
"As you know, this is Roy Mustang, the Flame Alchemist," Armstrong says, pointing to the stern man.
"Thanks, Armstrong. I'll take it from here," Mustang says, and leads us down the line. He introduces us to all of the Alchemists, until we get to the end.
"Major?" Mustang calls behind him, with a worried look.
"Yes Colonel?" Armstrong responds.
"Where's Fullmetal?" Mustang asks. Armstrong looks dumbfounded, and stutters over his words.
"I-I don't kn-kn-know," he responds, almost scared.
"He probably ran off again," Roy mutters under his breath.
"You're going to start with me, then Armstrong, and you'll go from there," Mustang says, sounding a bit disgruntled. We follow Mustang, and we end up in a large library.
"I want you to find these books, and then meet me outside," he instructs, and gives us a list of books to find.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Good, I want you to stand there, and Mason to stand there," Mustang says, and we follow those instructions.
"I will teach you how to stand at attention, respect higher rankings, and how to properly maintain a good military career," he says. He then walks away, leaving us in the large courtyard by ourselves. I look at Mason, and he looks back at me, clearly agitated. Mustang finally walks back to us, with Hawkeye, Breda, Fulman, and two other men. The one is in a wheelchair has a reddish brown hair, and is muscular. The other is completely the opposite. He is shorter, has black hair, is definitely not muscular. He wears has black rimmed glasses, and looks very intelligent.
"You've meet my three subordinates, but there are two more. Sergeant Major Kain Fuery, and Second Lieutenant Jean Havoc," they both salute at their names.
"See how they salute when I come near? I'm a higher rank than them, so they have to salute," Mustang says.
"Let's try it now. Private Cassandra Snare and Private Mason Snare," we salute at our names.
"Good, that's your lesson for today, don't get into any trouble," Mustang says, and dismisses us. Before we leave, we hear him call for us.
"Yes Sir?" Mason and I say in unison, saluting him.
"I need to talk to you before you leave," Mustang says, and waves us to him.
"If you do go through to become a State Alchemist, I have names for you, and what you'll study. Mason, you'll be the Polar Alchemist, and Cassandra, you'll be the Multiblood Alchemist," he says, and waves us away.
"Thank you, Sir," I thank Mustang, and we give him a salute as he walks away.
"The Multiblood Alchemist....... I like that," I says, satisfied with my new title.
