“Think it worked?” “Yeah can’t you see it? Look at her veins… see it?”
“Oh… yeah I see it… Ezra, lovely. Get up.”
Papa shook me lightly, trying to get me out of my sleep trance. As I slowly woke up an intense amount of pain coursed though me. I threw up, simple as that.
“Write that down Max! Ezzy… honey look at me.”
A scream escaped me lips as I looked around. Demonic shadow beasts lurked around behind Daddy, looping around above my head, and sitting next to Papa as if to mimic him. One being stood out the most to me. He was gigantic, standing easily four heads taller than either one of my parents, but he looked almost… friendly.
“Papa you have a shadow next to you.”
“What?”
“There’s a little shadow next to you on your desk.”
Papa and Daddy looked at each other before looking at me. The began running test after test, poking and prodding, asking questions and testing reflexes, the usual rundown after doing an experiment on a human.
“Can you control them?”
“I-I don’t know.”
“Well just try to… um I don’t know. Try something.”
Holding out my hand, I tried to manipulate the creatures. The giant one walked over to me and grabbed my hand gently. I heard a loud scream of a child whom I had hoped to me Timothy. Looking down at my other hand I realized that shadow was consuming me to an extent.
“Write this down! Oh god what’s happening to her?!”
-He- and I completely connected souls and mind. A flood of memories entered my mind, flashing in and out. I threw up again…
“…child, are you alright?” a booming voice called in my head.
“I’m fine… who are you? I’m Ezradrean.”
“My name is Orlowe, a pleasure to meet you young Ezra.”
Darkness enclosed over my eyes. I had guessed I fallen asleep under the pressures of the day.
