He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

Chapter 12

 I open my window and climb down to the ground. There is no way in hell that Jake will be able to get out of this one. If Ty is right, I need to make sure Jake and I are no more. 

I hear Jake's truck starting up and I run over and climb into the passenger seat. 

"What the hell are you doing? Go back inside!"

"I'm not leaving until you talk to me!"

He sighs. "How can I change your mind?"

"You won't even try."

"Can you go for a ride?"

I shrug. "I don't see why not."

He backs out of my driveway and heads out onto the main road. Where the fuck could he possibly be taking me?

"So?"

"So what?"

"Can you tell me about what Tyler told me?"

"Well-"

"I don't need any fucking lies either."

"I'm not gonna lie, Lexi." He sighs. "Basically, me, Tony, Tyler and a few girls were hanging out and one of the girls accused your brother of assaulting them. Called the police and tried to get Ty in jail."

"So why is he mad at you and Tony?"

"Because the girl, Isabelle, told Tyler that Tony and I made her call the cops."

I raise my eyebrows. "Well did you?"

"Of course not! Izzy was just upset because she asked Tyler to hook up with her and he turned her down. She went after me and Tyler because we rejected her too."

"Well why didn't you testify in his defense?"

"Three years ago, I was trying to find my mother and raise a family. I didn't have time to take a breath let alone find time to go to court." He pulls into the driveway of an apartment complex and stops the car in a parking space and puts his hand on my knee. "I promise you, if I could've gone, I would have."

"Where are we?"

He sighs. "Come in and see."

Jake leads me into an apartment on the first floor. On the inside, a little girl is sitting on the couch watching TV. "Jakey!"

"Hey kiddo!" He picks Sophia up in his arms and spins her around. "Can you say hi to my friend Lexi?"

She waves. "Hi!"

I laugh. "Hey."

"She's really pretty," she tries to whisper just to Jake.

He looks right at me and says, "I know." He puts Sophia down and leads me to the back of the apartment into his bedroom. "So, now you know me."

I look around his bedroom as he lays on his bed with his head propped up. His room is small, definitely not what I had envisioned. "Wow," is all I can manage to say.

He laughs slightly. "What?"

I shake my head. "Nothing, I just didn't imagine..."

He laughs again. "Yeah, I know."

"So this  is Jake Reynolds?"

He nods. "It is."

I go over to his bed and I climb over his body and I kiss him. Hard. It catches him off guard, but he kisses me back and places his hands on my ass. I force my tongue into his mouth and he grunts, and I feel an erection rising from Jake. I glide my two of my fingers down his chest and barely touch his core before going back up again.  He breaks away from the kiss.

"Wait, where is this coming from?"

I smile at him. "I just...really really...like you."

He laughs. " I really really like you to."

I lay down next to him and he pulls me into his chest. I breathe in the wonderful scent of his cologne. 

I am finally happy.
