Flag's p.o.v.

It has been raining all night, I was asleep on my bed when I heard shouts coming from the outside. I groaned and rolled down the bed. When I looked out the window all I saw was dirty brown water. Looking at it confused, it struck me that it was flooding. I ran to the closet to change and grabbed a bag. I filled it with my important documents and some clothes. I put on a coat and grabbed my phone.  I climbed up the roof. The water level was rising fast and it was already up to my ankles. I looked for a safe route to get to dry land but found none. Thankfully, two men in a boat came to save me. I climbed into the boat and we sped off picking up people on the way. We were brought to a white building that was on higher ground. It was the rescue centre that was built just months ago to provide a temporary place to stay for people who were affected by natural disasters.

As we walked in we were greeted by many volunteers and workers who handed us blankets and food. Some people were being treated for injuries while the others were brought to halls  and rooms where they could rest. I was brought to a room with mattresses on the floor. There were three other people who were already in the room. I put my things on the mattress closer to the door and lied down. I greeted the people in the room and introduced myself. We soon started talking. After a while, my eyes began to grow heavy. I excused myself and wrapped myself in the blanket as I drifted off to sleep.
