‘Karris McApple’ is a smart and sensible 14 year old girl, whose passion is skateboarding. From the first day she commenced at her new high school, she’s already found herself mixed up in controversies that sees her tangled in a web of lies and deceit which inevitably lands her in hot water!
Karris makes friends with a girl named ‘Lisa’ who is gay and who also has a passion for skateboarding. They hit if off instantly until they submit their entry to the ‘Annual Skateboarding Championships’ as friends which very soon turns into rivalry. But prior to Karris meeting Lisa, she meets a cute and conserved boy named ‘Jett Black’ who is unfortunately tied down to a selfish, stuck-up, rich girl named ‘Sally Enyolk’ who is the TV host of Grossetime Fever – a TV game show aimed at school kids that’s full of lots of slime and grosse fun!
Karris and her new group of friends decide to chat on Facebook. Karris started writing to her old BFF back in her old hometown, on what she thought was a private chat session, but in fact, the Private Chat function didn’t active so, everyone who’s anyone on the chat line received a copy of the message. Regrettably for Karris, she wrote some really terrible things about her new friends, now her new enemies. She had to make it up to them – and fast!
Karris decides to crash Sally’s on-air TV talk show, Grossetime Fever by walking out on stage on live TV and publicly apologized to everyone she hurt and offended on Facebook and then in turn, Karris becomes an instant celebrity.
But the conclusion to this book lies with the ‘Annual Skateboarding Championships’ where sworn enemies Lisa and Karris do the inevitable and follow their hearts instead.
