Ever had that moment when you wish something hadn't been pointed out and you get super embarrassed because you did it, now would be that moment for me as two men held onto me as they dragged me through a corporate office while everyone watched, upon entering the office a man closed the door and the other forced me down into a seat.
Biting my lower lip i watched as the woman behind the desk looked up from her computer, removing her glasses she cocked an eyebrow "we found her sneaking into the building after she was escorted out miss Garrot" a tall tan man says in a deep voice as he stood behind me
"Aha and why was she trying to enter the building?" The woman says standing from the seat as she made her way around the desk
Crossing my arms i leant back in my chair "we have no idea ma'am probably playing a prank or school interview she never said"
"Do you have an excuse for this?" She says looking pointed to me as she crossed her arms
"Can't i come and see my mother or is she so important that she's too busy for her daughter" i say standing to face my mother as i looked her dead in the eye
"Its ok boys this is Alexandra... my daughter" my mother says looking past me towards the men as they nod their heads before leaving the office
"That seemed like a struggle to say" i say dropping down into the seat as mum walked towards her seat
"Why are you here Alexandra?" Mum asked taking a seat with poise
"Dad doesn't think we spend enough time together so he sent me here to ask for an internship, his minion is waiting downstairs for me to come back with a yes" i say
"You an internship with your mother?" She asked cocking an eyebrow
"i wouldn't call you mum, I'd have to call you boss or Mrs Garrot, that would be wonderful for you, you can keep gabriella as your favorite daughter and me as the non existent one" i say sarcastically
"Ok but your not the only intern here, you are not to mess with their work and you will work for my ceo, i expect good behavior and i will see you first thing tomorrow morning" mum says putting her glasses on and looked back at her desktop.
Standing from the chair i made my way towards the door she called my name "yes" i say looking back at her
"Dress appropriately" she says without looking up, with a sigh i left her office as i made my way through the office, employees whispering between one another
Upon entering the lobby Dan stood waiting for me by the door with my coat "there you happy, i start tomorrow" i say as Dan smiled
"i don't know why I should be happy it's your fathers wishes" Dan says wrapping an arm around me in comfort
"You could have just told him I did it and let me do something else" i say with a sigh making Dan laugh
"i would be fired on the spot Alex, your father has minions everywhere"
Dan is my fathers personal hand and the only person who understands me, the only person who's there for me because my parents aren't, they're always to busy with work and charity events that they don't even know their own daughter.
"im driving" i say happily taking the keys from Dan as i climbed into my toyota FJ cruiser "Man i missed you" i say hugging the steering wheel.
"We should head home miss Holly has the charity event tonight" Dan says making me sigh
"i don't like posh people no offence, your fine it's just everyone else" i say starting the engine
Dan is from Britain so he has a very thick accent, at first I couldn't understand him but over time it's come to be easier

Upon entering the house maids ran around with sheets in their arms and my soon to be step mother running frantically around the house "Thank god I thought I was going to loose it , Dan can you help Mary, alex come with me" Holly says dragging me up the grand staircase
Dragging me into my room holly sat me on my bed as she walked towards my wardrobe to pull out a cream floor length dress that hung off the shoulders and had a low neckline that framed my curvy body.
Waiting for me to change i walked to my mirror as i stared at the dress "why so fancy?" I asked in confusion
"Were always black tie at these events and now that your older you need a different look, your father picked it out" Holly says pinning my hair to one side to make it look elegant, spinning me around she began to powder my face with make up "So how did your talk with your mum go?"
"Well I was kicked out by the guards at the door then i snuck in and they caught me and dragged me through the office, she agreed to take me in as her intern, i promised I wouldnt call her mum and that was it"
"You have a right to call her mum, she gave birth to you"
"Your more a mother then she ever was, her precious gabriella is more important" i say making Holly smile as she tried to hold back tears
"Thats the first time you ever called me your mother"
"Don't cry you'll ruin your makeup" i say with a smile as she chuckles
"Here" she says opening a box to reveal stunning white heals that had diamonds embedded on the heal "a little bling i know you don't like jewelry "
With a smile I hugged Holly before placing the shoes on "you get me"
"i should get downstairs and welcome the guests" she says with a smile "just so you know Alex i have thought of you as my daughter since the day your father introduced us and i am so proud of you" she says exiting my room
