The bazaar was more active than usual. "Damn, I won't be able to make it!" Asura muttered while sliding by the people that are gathered in the area. She finally got thru the mass of humans, some of which gave her glares and muttered insults towards her, but she did not let that bothered her since she has known this treatment since she was but an infant.
The stands were closing and she needed a gift for her friend. She spotted her target and speeds her way towards it before it's too late. "Wait!" She gasped as she reaches it, "I need to purchase something from your stand sir." She inquired as he was about to close up shop. "Listen here elven girl. I don't take orders from your kind." He looked old enough to be a grandfather. His old tired eyes regard her with disdain as she took a patient breath and kept her body firm. " Forgive me, sir, I simply wish to buy a gift for my dearest human friend, I'm quite willing to pay I assure you." He looked at her for a moment and muttered "Fine."
"Thank you, sir," she bowed her head slightly, causing a few strands of long brown hair to fall on her right side. "May I purchase this lovely porcelain dragon?" She requested to the vendor. "Very well, it will be 25 gold." He muttered. Clearly overpriced, but she let it be, and she paid the old man. "Thank you, sir." She said before leaving in a hurry.***
Asura arrived at her friend's home and knocked on the wooden door and entered. "Cain? It's me!" She yelled as she closed the door behind her. "I'll be right down!" Cains' voice echoed from the top floor. "Alright! I'll be in the kitchen!" She replied as she continues forward passing the stairs that were on the left and towards her destination.
She sat down by the table and place the porcelain dragon in front of her. She grabs a nearby cloth and covers it.
She hears her friend's footsteps walking down the wooden staircase from the entrance.
"How was your day?" She asks as he walked into the kitchen and took a seat. "Not bad, had to chop more lumber then usual, winter is coming after all." Asura nods in agreement.
Last winter, was by far the worst they have ever seen in this side of the region of the human Kingdom. Usually, the snow only falls for four months. Last winter lasted six months. It was a quite unusual winter and both them and the people of the region hope history won't repeat it's self, many died of starvation or froze due to lack of preparing for such harsh times.
"Maybe this winter won't give us much trouble for hunting," Cain mumble as he eyed the floating cloth on the table. Asura smiled and gestured at him to take it. "I got it for you, I do hope you like it."Cain smiled back at her and carefully remove the beige, worn out cloth, and revealed the beautiful aqua coloured dragon. The dragon's wings were lifted to the sky while the dragon was perched on a rock roaring while protecting bits of treasure at his feet. "It's fantastic!" Cain exclaimed, he carefully takes the porcelain and examines the well-crafted dragon. He looks up and set his brown eyes on Asura and smiled, "Thank you Asura, this is awesome." Asura nods "Happy birthday Cain." He laughed and shooked his head making is short brown hair slide with the motion, "I know exactly where to put this." The young human got up and grab the halfling's hand and drag her towards the living room that is located on the right side of the entrance.
"Alright what do you think?"
He placed the dragon on top of the fireplace between two lovely antique vases. From the dragoon era. "That is a lovely place for it. Actually, it suits it very well. Considering dragon's used to roam in the wilds throughout the era those vases were created." She observed.
"If dragon's even existed," Cain responded while gazing at the fireplace's decorations. Asura looked at her friend and only smiled.
