The cool air of the September morning tingles my skin as I turn over to turn  my alarm clock off that awakened me from my peaceful slumber.

"shit".

7:30 the clock reads.

I quickly hop out of my tempting bed and race to my bathroom.

I quickly shower and put on my favorite cream knit sweater and skinny jeans.

what should I do with my hair? ah.

I pull my long wavy auburn hair into a messy side braid and then secure it with a hair tie.

After I do my makeup which consists of concealer, powder, blush, eye liner and mascara; I grab my book bag and run down the stairs.

"Good morning sweetheart, ready for your first day of school?". my mom greets as I sit down at the kitchen table across from my step sister Carissa, who is a sophomore. The name Carissa means "most beloved one".  Which was especially true in my family.   My mom and dad spilt when i was 10.   And about a year ago my mom married Phil.   Because of that I had to leave my friends, all 2 of them and pack up everything and move to London with my mom to live with Phil and his snobby daughter Carissa.   Phil was a doctor so Carissa was used to a lot of money while I wasn't.    Carissa was a spoiled brat with designer clothes and an army of 3 snobby brats that followed her around.    Carissa hated my mother and I cause according to her we are a " charity case ".

"Of course I am!   There's nothing like starting senior year with no friends!" I reply with sarcasm lingering in my voice.

"Well that's the spirt!" my mom saying returning the sarcasm.

I quickly ate my cereal and didn't say a word to the caked face brat sitting across from me.

"Hello Brianna.".  Phil's loud but caring voice filled my ears as he entered the very large kitchen.

"Hi, Phil." I say smiling as I get up to leave the table.

Phil is a nice guy who genuinely cares about my mom. But he tries to hard to act like a father figure to me.

"Are you excited to make new friends today?"  Phil questions me.

"Can't wait." I mumble in reply.

As I step out of Carissa's shiny new Mercedes that she received for her latest birthday, I take in the sight of the large high school in front of me.  Mellmount High.

"Don't talk to me or look at me. I do not know you and you don't know me.   Go to the office to get your schedule." Carissa says while slamming her car door shut.

Before I have a chance to reply she's already running over to her clique of carbon copies. Megan, Linnea, and Kelsey.

I slowly with my head down trying to avoid all eye contact with anyone, make my way through the large entrance of the school and begin to look for the office. I quickly turn a corner hoping to find the office but instead I run head first into a person.

thud

"shit, I'm so sorry" I apologize while picking up the books that my victim of clumsiness dropped.

"Haha it's ok. Don't worry about it" the stranger says with a very charming Irish accent.

I look up and my pale blue eyes meet the brightest pair of blue eyes I've ever seen.

"Hi, I'm Niall. And you are?"

"Brianna, but you can call me Bri."

"Well hello Bri. you seem pretty frazzled can I help you with anything." Niall graciously asks as he takes his books from my hands.

"I was looking for the office before I rudely rammed into you."   I say as my cheeks turn a crimson shade.

"I was just heading that way, cause I wanted to switch out of one my classes.   You can come with me if you would like?".

"Thank you so much!"  I say as I follow Niall through the crowded hall ways.

After a couple quick turns down some long hallways we finally arrive at the office.

"Hi, I'm a new student and I was looking for my schedule." I say to the lady sitting at the front desk, whose name is Mrs. Mellington according to her silver name tag at the front of her desk.

"What's your name darling?" mrs mellington asks me as she looks up from her computer.

"Brianna, Brianna Mattson."

She disapears into a room and within minutes Mrs. Mellington comes back with a piece of paper with a bunch of names and numbers I don't understand.

-------------------------------------

" I don't think I like Mr. Barnes very much." I say to Niall as we exit our first class of the day which was science with Mr. Barnes a stern 56 year old, not so thin man.

Niall chuckles and nods in agreement.

"He's the worst that's why I wanted to switch out of his class, but I'm glad I didn't." Niall says while he grabs a book out of his locker and winks at me.

Niall and I have 3 out of 6 classes together.

1st period-science

2nd period- history

4th period-free period

During first period Niall introduced me to Hannah who was a tall, gorgous, dirty blonde with hazel eyes and sunkissed skin. She lookes as if she stepped out of an magazine. We were the complete opposite she had straight blonde hair, I had wavy auburn hair. She had big bright hazel eyes, I had pale blue eyes. I was snow white pale she was Barbie tan. She was preppy and friendly and I just wanted to be at home alone.   But some how our sarcastic sense of humors mixed well, and for the first time in a while I found myself making a friend.

"I have to go to the bathroom. I will meet you at history class it's in room 7 right next to your locker." Niall says while walking in the opposite direction of me.

I wave and head to my locker. As I make my way through the sea of people a pair of dark green eyes catch my attention. And a smirk forms on the mysterious and handsome boy who is looking at me from across the hall.
