Carter POV
"That really happened?" I asked Amelia, while laughing.
"Yea, I mean, Joey can be clumsy, but that day, that was somerhing else." She said, with a smile.
"Now I'm going to use that against him!"
"No!" She said instantly. I looked at her with an arched eyebrow.
"If you say anything, he'll know I told you and then he'll tell everyone this thing about me." Amelia panicked.
"Alright, I won't say anything." After a pause, I decided to speak up again. "But what is it that he has on you that could be so bad?"
"You don't need to know about it."

As I drive and Amelia changes the radio stations, I start thinking about this whole crazy idea I made. I knew that once tonight was over, Amelia wouldn't care about what I did, or what I said. I mean before we started "dating", she didn't give a crap about who I was or what people thought about us. These next week's are going to hit me hard."Penny for your thoughts," Amelia asks.
"Just thinking of this whole fiasco we created just to win a stupid title that in 2 weeks, no one will care about."
Amelia and I stayed quiet for the rest of the ride to the party hall. When we got there, I got out and went to open the door for Amelia.
"Thank you, kind sir."
"No problem milady."
We both stared up at the sign above us, and looked at each other. Her thinking who knows what, and me thinking about how sad it feels that this is coming to an end.

Amelia's POVTo say the homecoming committee did a good job at decorating, would be an understatement. Although the theme was simple, starry night, I honestly didn't think they would go as far as they did.
They managed to cover the ceiling in a bunch of glow in the dark stars and little lights. If you managed to look closely, you could see that the ceiling said HOCO 2016. The couple of tables they had, were crowned with beautiful lanterns at the center.
Carter looked at everything in awe, and I just couldn't help but think of how cute he looked. He stared at the ceiling for awhile, until I finally tugged his arm towards a table.
I found one to the left of the dance floor and sat down. Carter just stood still while he took in the people around him.
"You're acting like you've never seen people at a dance before, Carter." I said to him, with a smirk.
"I went to homecoming freshman year, but it was lame. I mean who does a nintendo theme?" He fires back.
"Apparently our school," I mutter.
"Let's go dance," Carter suggests, as he pulls me out of my seat.
As we begin walking towards the dance floor, the song changes from the upbeat song, to Can't help falling in love, by Elvis. Carter looks at me and smiles.
He pulls me close to his chest and we begin swaying to the music. In my mind, I sing along to the lyrics.
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you"Thank you, Amelia." Carter whispers in my ear.
"For what," I mumble into his chest.
"For making these past couple of weeks...interesting."
"They weren't that amazing," I say.
"You're right." He says laughing.
"Whatever."
~.~The rest of the night was filled with dancing, laughing, and more dancing. When they crowned Carter and I, the football team went wild. They honestly seemed like a bunch of girls at a one direction concert.
I took pictures on my phone of the whole event, and knew I'd be able to make some pretty good edits for Instagram.
Alexis never showed, or at least she never came to find me. I think seeing Joey with another girl, made it harder for her to be here.
"Hey there princess. May I have a dance?" I turned around and faced Kaden. He was wearing a white button up, with some black slacks, and a red tie. I assumed that Mackenzie's dress was red.
"I guess you could." The song was currently a bachata song, that required us to dance together, but not to close.
"You look really nice today, Amelia."
"Thank you."
"Still don't know how Carter managed to land with a girl like you," he said, but sounded distant as if he said it to himself.
"Well it won't be like that for long," I muttered so lowly, so he wouldn't hear.
We danced to the song, and when it ended, we were about to part our separate ways, when Kaden stopped me once again.
"He's really lucky to have you Amelia. I hope he realizes that being with you, is something he might never have again."
I looked at him as he walked away. Every single conversation I had with Kaden, always left me confused. It honestly made me think as if I had ended up with the wrong football player.
