Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Winter has always been Anthony's favorite season. When the snow builds up, when the crunch of snow underneath footsteps occur, when the leaves fall down from the trees and everything around becomes the lightest shade of white known to man -- that's the kind of thing Anthony enjoys. And due to these reasons and many more, it shouldn't come as a surprise when the morning was found to be covered in snow that they decided to drag their boyfriend out to explore the many wonderful sights the snow has created.

Down the street, arms linked together, they walked on. Anthony pointed out some of the icicles that hung from trees and shimmered under the white, cloudy, skies. They lifted their chin up to the sky and smiled as they noticed no sun was anywhere to be seen. They snuggled into their scarf as their gloved hand found it's way to their boyfriend, Nathan's, waist.

Nathan, on the other hand, didn't point out too many things about the cold, winter, morning. He fussed aloud when Anthony woke him up and dressed him, only to shove him out the door in the freezing cold. Don't get him wrong, he loved his partner with all his heart, but all he wanted to do right now was lay down and cuddle with Anthony. He was freezing cold and trying his best to refrain from wrapping all his limbs around Anthony for warmth in public. However, the smile that Anthony had on their face as they skipped down the icy sidewalk was enough for Nathan to comply with anything they wanted to do.

"Hey, look!" Anthony squeezed Nathan's hand and pointed to a window of a shop. Anthony led them over to the window and continued to point in the direction of a candle holder with painted on snowflakes all around it, "Isn't it cool? That would be a pretty cool Christmas decoration, hm?"

This is just how Anthony was. Ever since they were young, they always wanted to decorate everything for every holiday. With Christmas not too far away, Nathan was dreading the day they would be buying new and updated holiday decorations.

"You want it?" Nathan asked, making sure to hold tightly into Anthony's hand just in case they go running inside the store for it.

Anthony looked up to Nathan and smiled hugely, "Can we?"

Nathan thought for awhile, but eventually nodded his head and had Anthony lead the way into the store.

Once they came out of the store with the candle holder and a couple candles that Anthony just had to have, they were ready to continue walking down the street to something new.

Snowflakes started to fall down slowly and fog started to move around the town. Shops that just could handle the season started to close for the day while other shops decided to steal the show with signs that read "Free Hot Chocolate" or "Free Heating in Here!"

As they walked down the street, they found that their feet lead them to a park they usually go to in the spring or summer time. No grass could be seen for snow covered the ground, and as they contemplated sitting on a bench or a swing, the wet snow made them decide it would be best not to. They stood side by side and looked on towards the trees and bushes covered in snow and rid of leaves.

"I like winter." Anthony sighed.

"I know." Nathan chuckled back.

"Yeah, yeah. But, no, seriously. It's so pretty." Anthony looked towards Nathan with a small smile.

"You're so pretty."

"Ugh! Gross!" Anthony shoved Nathan a little with their hip and caused him to over exaggerate falling down, "Oh, stop being such a drama queen!"

"Nah. You should stop being up there and come down here." Nathan laid down in the snow and kicked Anthony's shoes lightly, prompting them to lay down in the floor next to them.

Anthony groaned and laid down next to Nathan, pouting at them jokingly. After a few seconds of staring, they broke out in smiles and looked at each other with lights in their eyes.

Although it was starting to become the afternoon, the skies were still white and filled with clouds and snow. Laying down, they held hands, and decided that they wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
