I opened my eyes to see I was no longer at the fair ground, I was in fact in a hospital bed. The bright light shone through the windows, making my eyes go all funny. I looked over to see my parents half asleep. I coughed to let them know I was awake.
"Megan! Thank god you're okay. We've been waiting for you to wake up all morning." Mom said, hugging me tightly. "I'm fine, wait, is Luke okay?" I asked

"Luke's absolutely fine. He went to get something to eat. You seemed to hurt yourself pretty bad last night." Dad replied. "I'm fine, ow!" I cried out in pain, unable to move my left leg. "Be careful, we probably should've told you your leg was broken." Mom smiled sadly.

Luke walked in with a cup of coffee in his hands. He rushed over and hugged me, telling me he was sorry over and over again. "It's not your fault, please stop saying sorry." I smiled. "Your dad has to get back to work. I'm going to tell a nurse you're awake and quickly nip home to get a few things for you. Apparently you'll be here for a couple of days." Mom said. "Thank you." I answered before they both left.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Luke asked. "I've already told you, I feel fine. Except the pain in my broken leg, and my head is still sore but apart from that I'm fine." I replied as Luke held my hand.

"As soon as we unattached from the wheel I hit the bars and I was unconscious. I woke up and we were in an ambulance. Apparently the fire brigade came, put out the fire and got us out the carriages. I only hit my head, I got away lucky." Luke explained.

"Is everyone else okay?" I asked and Luke nodded. "I'm sure everyone's good."

Luke stayed for a while. My mom came back and dropped off a few things before leaving again, telling me she'd be back tomorrow morning. Luke had to leave not too long after either so I was left alone.

I was halfway through a magazine mom had left when I heard the door open.

"Cal."

"Megan! Are you okay? What happened? Michael told me you were in hospital so I came to see you."
"Yeah I'm good. There was an accident at this fair last night." I told him. "You didn't have to come and see me."
"Yeah I did. You're my friend, best friend so obviously I came to see you."

"I've had Luke with me all day, I've been okay."
"I can't believe you're actually dating that guy." Calm sighed.

"Sounds like someone's a little jealous."
"I didn't come here to fight Megan." Calum said. "I care about you more than you think I do. I'm allowed to look out for you and that guy isn't good for you."
"No, you're the one thats not good for me." I replied.
"Seriously? I loved you. No, I do love you and you know that. If you want to stay with that dick until he breaks your heart, fine. But you know that I'll always be here for you, even when he isn't. It's his fault this happened to you."

"No it isn't! Don't blame Luke for this. He took me out on a date to somewhere that meant something to us both. He didn't know the Ferris wheel was going to do whatever it did last night!" I argued back, angry with what Calum was saying.

"Maybe I shouldn't have come here. I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I'm going to go." He said calmly and turned around to leave. "Michael said he'd visit tomorrow after school. He was busy tonight with his mom." And with that, he left.
