Nick fell, continuing to fall, down and down, into the abysses he thought he wouldn't meet this early. His eyes were closed, scared of opening them, scared of seeing what filled that abyss. But this abyss didn't have a nostalgia feeling Nick anticipated for. He then asked himself,
"What if this abyss was temporary," he said out loud as he sunk deeper and deeper, reaching even further as he let the blanket of darkness wrap around him.

Nick sat there, tears dried up on his face. Dirt ran across his face as the police lights shone into his eyes, causing them to twitch every time they ran across perfectly in his eyes. His breath escalated then collapsed like a company's stock. He closed his eyes are more tears escaped from his emotional grasp. He hates crying in front of people, but right now he doesn't care.
A female officer walks up to him, unfolding a blank white notepad and clicking a pen that seemed to echo in Nick's mind as she said,
"Hey honey, I hate to do this but I need to ask you," she stopped as she sighed, her breath getting shaky as she sat down, next to Nick on the grass. "I need to ask you what happened," she said, her southern accent clearly sticking out.
Nick kept his head down as he sniffled, letting his curls get in his face. He didn't know what to do. He never experienced death and not in this way, as he wished...he wished for a lot of things. Right now, his wish was for this all to be over, for him to wake up from this horrible nightmare of his. He heard the women calling him, trying to snap him out of his trance. But all he wants was to see the smile from all of his friends again...he doesn't want to remember them as blood gushing from their heads and them lying dead on the ground. He wants to remember them as who they were....he wanted to remember them as they smiled and were happy. But now all he remembered was their faces from the crash.

Nick grumbled under his breath as he opened his eyes slowly, revealing what was behind the gates of his eyelids. He thought he saw the sky. He thought he was lying on the ground but he knew the ground didn't feel this soft and quite comfy. He let his vision focus as he saw a painted mural of the sky. It was beautiful as Nick was in awe by the detail in the mural. He eventually went to look around at his settings.
He saw a small wooden table next to him with duplicate tables and beds next to him that go on for what seemed like forever...maybe. Nick thought it was because his vision was still wonky. He saw a simple cup of water on the table with a small candle that laid there. It was lit, swaying back and forth, sometimes reaching higher for oxygen as it settled back down. It wasn't that dark as the sun was beginning to set as Nick started to slowly lift himself up from the bed using his elbows.
An exhilarating pain hit his left shoulder as he groaned in pain as he hit the pillow he was laying on with a thump.
"God dammit," he muttered to himself as he looked at his shoulder. It had a bandage in it, wrapped around carefully but tightly around his shoulder. He tried to do a circular motion with his injured shoulder as pain escalated throughout his whole body. He muttered a few more curse words as he used his other shoulder to lift himself up and propped himself upwards.
It was beginning to slowly start getting darker in the room, he was glad to have the company of the candle. As it was something that was very calming to him, swaying back and forth its endless dance until something comes along and stops it. He sat there, trying to figure out where he was, what had happened. He remembered the fight, he remembered the mysterious people in the black leather, and he remembered that disgusting black oil monster.
