Vanessa
My father tried to bond with me more and I simply couldn't. Justin's attitude had rubbed off on me and it pained me. I just wanted to know what was wrong-more so what exactly was said since my father apparently confronted him. On top of that, Midterms were here. Like legit, here in all its glory; the flesh. I was prepared, yet I wasn't. Justin and I had studied nonstop during the break and I was ready, but I felt as if my stress would overpower all of that. Throwing my hair up in a bun, I sighed and stared at my reflection in the mirror. My dark circles were covered, but it annoyed me that I knew they were simply there. Considering the fact that I was mentally and emotionally drained, I needed a picker upper and that was going to be a cup of coffee."Off to school early?" My father knocked, peaking his head in my room, behind the door with ease. I looked over at him and smiled slightly. He was already dressed in one of his typical lavish suits for the office. Simple yet upscale. His face was still the same as well. Stone cold, even though his voice wasn't so harsh this morning.
"Yeah, I want to study in the lounge for a while, if possible." I admitted.
"Oh, it is Midterm week, isn't it?" My father hummed, his brows furrowed slightly. I could see the remembrance in his eyes.
"Yep." I confirmed, dragging out the p.
"Do you need a ride to school?"
"No, I got it. Thanks."
"Alright. Well, do you at least want me to brew you a cup of coffee?" My father tried again which only caused me to sigh as I stuffed my MacBook and its charger into my bag.
"No thanks." I admitted, shrugging my satchel along my arm and eyeing my room one more time before grabbing my phone off of my bed. Of course he'd ask and as much as I would love to take him up on his offer, I decided not to. I would make it on my own if I wanted to. Sighing I gave myself one more quick look and tightened the high pony tail I knew I wouldn't have for much longer.
"I'll be out late majority of this week. Study groups with a few classmates and what not." I stated, vaguely lying.
"Alright, I'll try to have something premade before you get home."
"Ok." I stated dully and headed towards my door. My father pushed it open further and removed his head from the door way.
"Hey, about Thanksgiving..I'm sorry." He admitted, a small frown on his face. His eyes were emotionless however which only made me stare at him deadpan.
"It's fine. I'm used to it." I shrugged.
"What's that supposed to me?"
"That I'm used to it. Look, dad, I gotta go." I stated, taking a peak at my watch and shrugging past him in attempt to get down the hall. I couldn't get to school quick enough. When I finally made my way to my vechile I groaned. Coffee. I had to shoot Justin a text.
It was too cold to wait for Justin in our usual spot (near the door if one of us came earlier than the other) and I couldn't afford to waste time so I parked in my usual spot and began to study there; I couldn't just go to then lounge without him. Our other usual spot if you will. I parked as close as I could to the school and this week, Justin decided he would do so as well. I was glad; he always parked so far away. I detest walking to his car whenever he wanted me to, but I did anyways. Today, my exams were simple. They weren't even exams in actuality. I had Art and Spanish today and I was thankful. Charles the second and the Renaissance was still fresh on my mental and I could hardly focus on my Progressive Nouns. Thankfully, the first two hours of exams were simple. Mr. Hunt was allowing us to finish up any pieces we wanted to be criticed and anything we had done so far. There wasn't much to it, Justin and I finished ours for the most part. We planned to study for the rest of our exams since it was fine with Mr.Hunt. Spanish on the other hand, I had no idea how it was supposed to go for me. All I knew was, a speaking activity was bound to occur.
I looked up when I saw a car pull up beside mine. It was Justin's Dodge. I couldn't help, but smile as I closed my Spanish notebook and rolled down my window."I got you breakfast." Justin smirked as his window rolled down. A cup of coffee and a small bag was now in his hands. Starbucks. How great was he?
"You're definitely my life saver." I admitted as I rolled my window back up and shut off the car completely. I hurriedly stuffed my books and such into my satchel before grabbing it and jumping out of my car. Locking my doors, I opened Justin's passengers seat and slid in before dropping my bag to the floor.
Before handing me my coffee he gave me a long kiss. Our lips fought for dominance and eventually he won, his tongue slipping into my mouth with ease before he pulled away, handing me my coffee with a smirk. Breathing somewhat heavily I glared at him before sighing.
"You look so beautiful." He cooed dryly, as he shut off the car. He had jokes, always, but his vibe was different and it caused me to frown lowly as I opened the door. We both stepped out and I mumbled a mhm, tossing my satchel over my shoulder and closed it behind me. I took a long drag of my Café Mocha and smiled as my Uggs hit the cement. Justin was definitely a life saver this morning and I was thankful. Justin jogged up beside me and grabbed my hand with ease. However, he didn't intertwine our fingers like he usually attempted to do. Nonetheless, his radiant warmth instantly greeted me. Bumping my arm into his, a took note of what he had on. He wore an black oversized hoodie and a pair of black joggers. On his feet were a pair of all black Ski-Hi Vans and he looked so cozy that it was adorable. It was simple, but on Justin it was everything and more. He even wore his usual jewelry that made me look all types of spiffy.
"You look pretty good yourself, Chubstin." I smirked and he simply stared at me deadpan for a moment which only caused me to frown further more.
We had this, in every aspect despite what was going on. We'd be fine. If anything, we'd kick Midterms square in the face. I hoped.
