Justin Bright lights flashed upon me causing me to lowly groan. An uncomfortable, but bearable pain shot through my back and I admittedly opened my eyes. We were still on Van's roof top. I didn't realize we had fallen asleep. The sun was blinding; shining in its glory, but it was cold. It was colder than it usually was in November and I didn't see how we were able to stay out here all night. I placed a hand up, covering my face and looked over at my precious baby girl who clung onto me for dear life. I smiled at her and analyzed how perfect she was to me, how innocent and pure she truly was when she wasn't drowning herself in toxins. Now that I knew why she did it, I understood why she was so attached, anyone would be. I'm glad she's not like that anymore, but I didn't realize how rocky her withdrawal would be. Looking at my Apple Watch my eyes widened slightly when I saw the time 5:45am. I mentally groaned, it was a Thursday morning and I was still a high school student that had to be at school in a few hours. I tapped Van slightly, but she didn't flinch. Knowing I had to rush home, I picked her up carefully. Once she was scooped up in my arms I hesitantly walked over towards her window in a crouched position. This was beyond stupid and I was lucky her window wasn't too far. I carefully placed her legs through the window and attempted to gently lay her down. A light thud erupted from her temple and I automatically clenched my teeth. Not the smartest idea.
"Justin?" Her light voice called, her eyes hardly opened.
"Yes, baby girl?" I questioned as I carefully slid through the window, not wanting to step on her.
"Why am I on the floor?" She questioned groggily. I snickered lowly. As stupid as this whole situation was, it sounded stupid as well.
"We fell asleep on the roof." I chuckled, lowly. I picked her up carefully once again and adjusted her accordingly so I could pull her comforter back before laying her down and tucking her in. Her arms withdrew themselves from my neck with ease as I did so.
"Oh okay." She mumbled as she settled into the mattress before her breathing began to get light again.
"Do you know if your dad is here?" I questioned as I eyed her window. I would go out through the front door, but no one would be able to lock it so I was stuck leaving in the most cliché way.
"He's away." She trailed off. Sighing I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and tucked her in one last time.
"Sleep well beautiful." A small smile spread across her face slowly and I couldn't help, but smile as well even though she couldn't see me. She was so precious and simply her and I wanted nothing more than to stay with her. I debated for a long while whether or not I should lay beside her or on the floor even, but neither of those options were smart. I fought with myself for a long while before sighing quietly and eyeing her desk. There was a stack of sticky notes in multiple colors just there so I began to utilize them. I picked up one of her fine line pens and wrote a small little phrases. After doing that I grabbed one and stuck it on her forehead. I tired not to laugh as it made a slapping noise, one in which she did not hear. As I was about to sneak out of the window I noticed a notepad and sighed. I wanted to write her a cheesy little note.
Baby girl,
I hate that I have to leave you alone, but I'll be back to get you in a few hours, promise. We fell asleep on the roof and I truly don't know how considering the fact that it's freezing. I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened to your mother, but just know I'm here for you, always. Sleep well, angel. ~Your boy- Guitar Dude
I questioned myself as I put down the pen and placed the notepad on the middle of the desk where it would be noticeable. Was I even her boyfriend? No- at least not officially. I gave her one last glance before heading out the window.
6:45 am Vanessa
A low groan escaped my lips as my slumber slowly wore off. I was in my bed, bundled up which caused me to furrow my eyebrows. Throwing my comforter and sheets over to the side, I shrugged out of my bed and looked around. It was 6:45 am and suddenly I realized it was a Thursday. My face began to relax as a deadpan expression washed over me. As my face relaxed, I felt something move on my forehead. Reaching up, I grabbed whatever it was. It was a sticky note. I eyed it for a moment before chuckling. It read: Bieber's . How cute, I was property. I laughed lowly at how petty and sassy I was being so early in the morning. Fiddling with the note, I placed it on the wall, where a vacant headboard should've gone. That's when I found other little notes scattered along the wall. They were all corny and had little phrases on them. I glided my finger tips along a few of the words that were printed, wanting to savor each and everyone one of the notes. Eyeing my room further more, I noticed my window was slightly cracked. A soft smile played at my lips when I remembered Justin came by yesterday. Clutching his hoodie I rose from my dead and began to pass my desk. I paused when I saw my notepad was moved. Grasping the notepad with my thin fingers I began to read the note. Instantly my heart began to throb. Licking my lips a wild smile took over my face; my cheeks began to hurt but I didn't care. Reading the last bit of the note I sighed, not wanting to think about my mother furthermore today. I analyzed the note. His sloppy handwriting was beyond adorable and so was his signature. I didn't get how his simple penmanship was horrid, but his cursive was not. It threw me off guard though. My boy? Looking closer I noticed a new letter forming after the y. It was a starting f which was easily corrected by Guitar Dude. I smirked slightly before shaking my head and placing the notepad down.
My boyfriend, Guitar Dude.
I was slowly falling in love with the thought of that, but I knew it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. We were simply seeing each other and that was known, but something with a title? I didn't think we had one. I walked back towards my bed and found my phone waiting for me on the nightstand. I seriously needed a new one. This was no longer cutting it, at all. I scrolled through my messages.
Dad: Be home the day before Thanksgiving. We'll have dinner, just like we used to :) Love you, sweetpea. Hope you're okay. I'll call you when I can.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Why? I hadn't had a true Thanksgiving dinner in a long time. We hadn't had a true Thanksgiving in a long time-not ever since my mother died. I puckered my lips up in a duck like position before sighing.
Sweetpea: I love ya too, dad. I'm fine. Talk to you soon.
I then checked again for more messages, although I hardly talked to anyone.
Guitar Dude: Good morning gorgeous. I hope you slept alright. I'm leaving the house in about twenty minutes. See you soon, baby girl.
A warm smile mended my face and I happily sighed.
Baby Girl Van: Good morning, baby boy. Thanks for the notes. You're so corny, Justin lol. See you soon, just ring the door bell when you get here.
With that I put my phone down and headed towards the bathroom.
School started at eight so I decided to get ready. I had no idea how soon Justin would get here before I got ready and attempted to make breakfast.
