Bucky Rabbit and the not so smelly Sammy Skunk

One day in the most beautiful woods on this earth, Sammy Skunk was taking a walk to the flower patch to smell the pretty flowers. Sammy loved the smell of flowers, it reminded him of his home in the second most beautiful woods on this earth. Now on this day he happen to walk past a very funny rabbit named Bucky. Bucky could do many tricks, such as stand on one foot or turn his ears into knots, or tell a really funny joke to the other animals. Sometimes though, Bucky wasn't a very nice rabbit and said and did mean things to animals he didn't  know. He would judge them.

So Sammy walked on the path to the flower patch, when he saw Bucky twist his ears into three different knots. Sammy looked in awe and amazement as Bucky did this and exclaimed to the rabbit, "Wow that is so cool!! I wish I could something like that!!"

Now this took Bucky by suprise. A skunk, he thought, a skunk is here. Oh my i might get sprayed with that stinky stuff.

" Umm I don't know what you're talking about," Bucky said in a nervous tone. He was very afraid that Sammy would spray him. But Sammy was so excited to see Bucky's ear trick again, he didn't notice Bucky's nervous tone.

" Will you please do that trick again?! It was so cool, and if you do it again I'll take to the the flower patch to smell the most prettiest flowers the woods have ever smelled."

Now, Bucky was only half listening. He thought he heard Sammy say something like, " This is the worst smell in the woods, or I'm the smelliest flower in the patch," or something very silly. Either way, Bucky got very scared and didn't know what to do. He thought this skunk was about to spray him! Bucky preceeded to yell, " NO DON"T SPRAY ME SKUNK!!! NO!!! "

And just like that, Bucky darted off faster than any rabbitt had ever done before. That left Sammy standing there upset and confused. He wasn't gonna spray this rabbit, he only wanted to see his neat ear trick.

" What did I do wrong?" wondered Sammy. Sammy didn't wanna go to see the flower patch anymore. Sammy only wanted to do one thing. He did that one thing, sit down and cry.

Bucky ran so fast and so far back to his home that he never heard Sammy's crying. No, Bucky darted so fast to tell Grandma rabbit all about the skunk that was going to spray him. He darted left, he darted right, until he sprinted to his front door. He bursted inside and exclaimed, " Grandma, Grandma I have something to tell you!! "

Grandma Rabbit was a very wise rabbit. She loved Bucky very much and liked to see when he thought of a new trick. She knew that sometimes Bucky wasn't the nicest rabbit to other animals, so she wondered what he had to. When she saw Bucky she smiled and asked, " What do you have to tell me Bucky that you have to yell so the farmer can hear you?"

With that, Bucky stood still, cleared his throat and spoke to Grandma Rabbit in a calm voice saying, " When I was walking to the berry patch today I was practicing my ear trick, when all the sudden a skunk came by and shouted at me. I didn't know what he was saying until he yelled something like, " I'll make you the smelliest flower," or something where I thought he was gonna spray me with his stinky stuff. So I yelled no and ran and ran all the way back home to tell you all about it Grandma."

Now Grandma Rabbit was very confused. She knew for a fact that skunks don't spray anybody unless something is going to hurt them. Bucky didn't do anything that would cause this skunk to spray him. So Grandma Rabbit asked Bucky, " Bucky, did the skunk even turn around and raise its tail to you and did you do anything to hurt the skunk?"

Bucky replied, " Well . . . no . . ."

Grandma Rabbit went on saying, " I don't think this skunk was going to spray you Bucky. You need to go find that skunk and apoligize to him now. You might have hurt his feelings."

And with that, Bucky zoomed out the door to find Sammy Skunk. Bucky felt terrible, now that he seen he judged Sammy without getting to know him. He ran like no rabbit had before until he came to the spot in the road he saw the skunk. He found Sammy still sitting and crying, still very upset over what Bucky had said. Now Bucky felt worse than before, seeing he had made Sammy cry. He walked up to Sammy, cleared his throat, and said to Sammy, " Hi my name is Bucky, what's yours?"

Sammy looked up and saw that Bucky was the rabbit who ran away. He became extremely confused, but didn't want Bucky to run again, so he replied, " Sammy, Sammy Skunk. Are you the rabbit who ran away earlier from me?"

Bucky replied with shame, " Yes that was me. I thought you were going spray me. But I came to realize you weren't going to do that. So I'm really really sorry about that. Could you tell me what you said before?"

Sammy smiled and said, " It's okay, I understand. I only spray when I feel someone is going to hurt me, but what I said was could you do that ear trick again. It was really cool and if you did it again I was going to take you to the flower patch to smell the most beautiful flowers ever."

" Oh this trick?" Bucky said while putting his ears into a knot. Sammy laughed and shook his head with joy. Bucky then put his ear into two knots, and Sammy clapped for the trick. Bucky took a bow and smiled at Sammy.

Sammy then asked, " Sooo, would you like to go the the flower patch with me . . . ? "

Bucky exclaimed, " Yes Sammy I'd love to go to the flower patch with you!!"

So with that, the two new friends set off to the flower patch to smell those flower and play until sun down. And both lived happily ever after.
