Avery sat on a swing beside a young boy named Henry. She smiled, making small conversation with the imaginative boy. He held a large book, filled with many stories, marvelous ideas and theories. She has been friends with Henry ever since she could remember. He never ceased to amaze Avery with his constant comparisons of the townsfolk and story book characters. It seemed almost uncanny how many similarities they shared, though. Henry even said Avery was very much like this princess from one of the oldest fairy tales he's ever read.

Anywho, as Henry went on about the story of Snow White, the girl held onto the whistle hanging around her neck. She had always had it, though she couldn't remember where she had gotten it. She believed it to be a gift from a loved one, but she didn't know of any relatives on either side of her family that would be so kind as to bestow such a simple gift. The feeling of the cool metal inside of her warm palm put the girl at ease. Sighing, Avery grinned at Henry. "I hate to interrupt you, Henry, but it's getting a bit chilly out here. Why don't we go into Granny's diner and warm up with some hot cocoa?"

Henry allowed the interruption and nodded, closing his book and taking it with him. The two jumped off of their swings and hurried to the cozy diner they knew all too well. Once inside, they were greeted by Ruby. "Hey, kiddos. I bet you two could use some hot chocolate after being outside, huh? It's getting cold pretty darn fast," she grinned, leading the duo to a both seated beside a window. Avery and Henry thanked the woman as they settled into their seats.

"So, Henry, what was were you saying before?" Avery inquired, leaning towards the boy with her elbows propped up on the table. The younger boy's eyes lit up with excitement as he pulled out his book once again. Opening back up to the story of Snow White, he began to explain his theory on the quaint town.

"The town is cursed, Avery! You have to believe me," He stated, pointing to the book every so often. "Look, Mary Margaret is Snow White and David Nolan is Prince Charming."

Avery nodded, definitely understanding the traits the pairs shared. Of course, she wasn't convinced that this town was under a curse set by an evil queen, but she didn't want Henry to feel any more ridiculed for his imagination. "Well, if Mary Margaret and David are Snow White and the Prince, why aren't they together yet? And where is their baby?" She asked, truly curious.

"The baby was sent into this world before the curse was set," Henry explained. "She doesn't know anything about this, about Storybrooke or the curse. She needs to save the town and I know where to find her," the boy smiled, closing his book confidently.

Just then, Ruby returned with two streaming mugs of hot chocolate. Avery leaned back, talking her mug with a small thanks before returning her attention to the young boy. "So, what are you going to do? Bring her here so she can save the town?" The teenager chuckled, talking a sip from her cup. The silence that followed worried her, though. "Henry..."

"Look, I'll be just fine!" The boy stated, keeping his gaze from locking worth that of the girl's. "I have to do this, Avery; I have to find my mom and bring her back to save the town."

The teenage girl sighed, her gaze softening as she watched the boy. She knew it wasn't the best idea in the entire world. But, Henry couldn't do this all on his own. Running a hand through her tousled hair, Avery gave in. "Oh, alright...you can do what you need to do, little man, but you're not going to do it on your own," Avery caved, putting her hands up in surrender.

Henry's smile broadened and his eyes sparkled with a newfound light. "You'll come with me, right?" He questioned, sitting a bit straighter in his seat. Avery nodded, her smile small and less confident than his. Nonetheless, she wasn't just about to leave one of her only friends to journey outside of town on their own. Especially when that friend was young and vulnerable to the world outside of Storybrooke. "Okay, we'll have to leave tonight as soon as possible. You can drive, right?"

The teenager nodded, flashing her driver's license and keys. "I'm fully licensed; don't you worry. All I'm worried about is the gas money..." Avery replied, knowing that she would probably end up using her Christmas money to get her and Henry to this mystery woman, this lost princess.

Hopefully, it'd all be worth it: to let Henry meet his birth mom. The curse couldn't possibly be real and the two weren't about to embark on a quest to bring back the Savior of Storybrooke. They didn't even need a savior...right?
