Author’s Note about Unfaithful
I am not a big fan of slash or fan-fiction. That being said, I write my stories based on the “human condition” and the situations that we find ourselves in. I am not asking you to like slash or the werewolf genre. I hope you will overlook that and read the book with an open mind. This book could have easily been between a guy and a girl but I like to push the envelope. The book starts slow giving the characters’ depth and showing you their thoughts on everything. To make it easier for you, the reader, to digest some parts of the story; I am going to break it down for you in terms of the “human condition.”
No one ever plans for this to happen. I mean who would? You can’t control who it happens to. You can really only control your reaction to it. Sometimes it wins. Sometimes it breaks through our barriers leaving us defenseless and vulnerable. And sometimes we give in, to satisfy its hunger along with our wants. But its hunger is never satisfied. Our bodies crave it like no other. It fuels us while pushing us to our limits. We try to deny it. We try to walk away from it, ignoring its existence. It sings to us with its soothing lullaby, enticing us closer. It keeps us warm on cold nights. It forms bonds that shouldn’t be broken. But when it’s broken, it becomes the vain of our existence. It plagues us with memories we wish to forget. It rips us to our core, taunting us as it departs, dropping us to our knees as we beg for mercy. It breaks us down piece by piece, leaving open scars in its absence. It torments us with what could have been instead of what is. It leaves us wanting for more causing us to become guarded and cold. It leaves us breathless trying to break through the surface. In the end, love leaves you gasping for air.
This story encompasses everything that a normal relationship goes through. A teenager deals with the pressures of finding himself while keeping a secret from almost everyone except his best friend. He begins to bond with someone, who helps him out. A deep friendship forms. Subconsciously, feelings start to develop between the two. Without warning, one night a sexual encounter happens leaving one questioning his sexuality while the other pushes him away. Feeling confused, lost, and hurt he turns to his friend looking for answers. Losing himself in temporary comfort from his friend, he gives in to temptation and the desire to feel loved. A passionate night turns into a nightmare as he deals with the consequences of his actions.
Remember this is a "love story" between Scott and Derek. Those of you that are still NOT interested then by all means don’t read the story. But if you are interested then continue reading, vote, fan, and comment. I would really like your thoughts on the book. Constructive criticism encouraged but nastiness will not be tolerated.
