George's POV
I finally got her name.
Lillie. Beautiful name. I swear.
"Her name is Lillie?" I ask Damien.
"Yeah. She's a sweet girl. She sings and plays guitar just like you." Damien replies.
Wow.
She's a lot like me. I hope she likes me or at least I know she notices me..
I start to walk over. Palms are sweaty, I'm sure my forehead is sweating as well.
I walk half way over and notice her friends are noticing me and talking to her about me. I turn around. What am I doing? I can't be in a relationship. I don't know.
"Hi." I hear a girls voice from behind. Is this her?
I turn around. It's her..
"Um hi.." I say shyly.
"I uh, couldn't help but tell you that you were really good tonight.." she said kind of smiling and she's beautiful.
"Thank you, so much." I smile.
She smiles back at me and laughs a little.
"Can I buy you a drink? I'm gonna be here for a while." I say.
"Yeah sure." She giggles.
"Great." I smile.
As we were walking back to the stools by the bar she looks over at her friends. I couldn't tell what they were saying but I could hear her beautiful laugh. We got to the stools and started talking about the kind of music we liked.
"Bob Dylan and Joan Baez?" I ask.
"Oh-" she says as she takes a sip of her cup and puts it back down.
"They are absolutely adorable." She smiles and giggles.
"Yeah, you're right." I laugh.
"Do you write?" She asks.
I nod. "Yes I do." I smile at her. She's so beautiful..
"So, do you have a...?" I ask trailing off.
She laughs.
"Too soon?" I ask.
"So many questions." She laughs.
"Well, I gotta get to know you!" I laugh.
"I understand. And no. I don't have one." She smirks at me.
We stare at each other for a good minute. Her eyes are dark.. my eyes are hazel and green. But, she is a work of art.
"Should we get out of here?" I laugh.
"Why don't you put moves on any other girl here?" She smirks.
"You caught my eye, they didn't." I reply.
"Hm. Sounds like a load of bull but I'll buy it." She laughs.
"I'm serious!" I laugh taking a drink of my cup.
"Lillie, you're about to be up!" Karly says.
"Alright Gnarly Karly, I'll be there in a minute." Lillie looks back at me.
"I'll be back, rambling boy." She smirks and Karly grabs her hand and pulls her up.
Lillie's POV
Wow, he's a dream. Perfection. In every way.
I grab my guitar and sit up on the stage with the mic and light in front me. "Hi, you all know me. For those who don't, well you'll get to know me." I smile. I look at George.. He's smiling at me.
I start singing Sweet Bird by Joni Mitchell.
My voice sinks with the guitar and everybody feels moved. Spiritually.
I pick the strings on the guitar and smile at George while I do it.
George's POV
"Wow.... she's perfect. Her voice is angelic.. the way she plays the guitar.. I've never seen anything more perfect.
"Keep drooling. She's out of your league." Dan says.
"Oh, shut up. You know, I wanna thank you for getting me down here. It's better than anywhere else." I say looking at Danny as he's wiping out a glass shot.
"You like her, don't you." He smirks.
"Yeah, I do." I smile looking back at Lillie while she sings.
"She's beautiful." I say.
"I know. But she's like a little sister to me. So, don't hurt her." He warns me.
"Am I really the type of person who does that?" I ask looking back at Danny.
"You leave people behind, Georgie boy. No matter who it is. I'm surprised you're here with me." He replies.
"I think I finally found a place I belong, though." I nod my head and look back down at my glass.
"A girl is not going to save you." Danny looks at me.
"Maybe she will. She did tonight." I say.
"Yeah, she made your night, so what."
He replies.
"Maybe she'll make my life worth living." I smile back her.
"You just met the poor girl." He sets the glass down and and looks up at me.
"I understand.. but I feel something way stronger with her than I have ever before." I look at him in the best way I can to let him understand how I feel.
"Fine. But so help me God if you hurt her." He says.
"She'll be fine!" I say.
Then, the song ended. And so she walked off of the stage with her guitar in her hands.
