"Lily!"I yelled, causing the ginger in front of me to turn around. A look of horror came across her face as I ran into her, pushing us and our luggage across the threshold to platform 9 3/4."Rowan, get off! You're puncturing my lung!" Lily yells into my ear. I sigh, then roll over so now I'm completely sprawled out over her."Better?" I ask. I then laugh at her attempt to try to push me off.
"You're a twig, yet I can't push you off?" She cries. I start giggling and roll off, now laying on the cold floor before the Hogwarts Express."Why must you do that every time we get ready to go to Hogwarts?" She asks as she stands up and bushes off some dirt."It's tradition, Lils. And you can't mess up tradition." Lily rolls her emerald green eyes and I laugh. She looks so serious that it's hard for me not to.
"By any chance, did she eat candy?" A voice behind me asks, but since I'm on the floor I can't see him. "I sure hope not; it's a day ride to Hogwarts."Lily says, cracking a smile. I huff and cross my arms, probably looking like a toddler holding their breath. "I only had chocolate," I mutter. The voice chuckles. He then moves around so I can see him standing next to Lily, both of them looking down at me as if I were a mad-man. I probably am.
"Remmy!" I bellow, jumping up and hugging one of my best friends tightly around his neck. Remus gently pats my back and I let go. "You've grown since last year," he says, giving me a shy smile. I shrug. Probably only grew an inch or two."You both look lovely, by the way."He adds, a real smile forming. This is just one of the many reasons why I love my friend. Not love-love, but sibling love. Besides, he was much better than the other marauders...well, besides Peter, but Peter kind of creeps me out.
"Thank you, Remus."Lily said, smiling."Care to help us with our luggage? I suspect that Rowan's is basically all Quidditch equipment."I give her a scowl."Quidditch happens to be one of the only thing I'm good at, thank you." I say.Lily gives me a sincere look."You're good at lots of other things too, Roe," Remus said, giving me a pat on my shoulder.
As the train whistle blows, Remus hurries and helps us girls with our luggage. As soon as me and Lily make it to a compartment, Remus hugs me goodbye."James and Sirius are waiting; we're two compartments over," he says. I shrug, laying down on the seat with my hands under my head. Remus sighs and leaves, the door closing softly after him.
"So, I heard that you're a Prefect this year." I nod, now playing with the ends of my long strawberry blond hair. "Yeah, but it won't be as fun. Galen's Head Boy, and he's one of the most obnoxious Ravenclaws in history." Lily raises an eyebrow."More obnoxious than Sirius?"I sure hope she's kidding. No one- and I mean NO ONE is more obnoxious than Black.
"Are you kidding? Galen's a saint compared to Black." Lily shrugs."He's nice to some people-"
"Not Severus. Severus's a buddy of mine- well, somewhat. If he wasn't so focused on Defense Against the Dark Arts all the time, he'd be swell."I say. It's partially true. Severus was an okay kid, if you got to know him properly. Lily taught me that."Well, Sirius has tried to be nice with you. James has told me countless times, Rowan. Why must you be this way?" Well, the way Lily puts it is as if it's all my fault! It's not my fault that he's an idiot.
I stared up at the ceiling, wishing that she would shut up about Sirius. She didn't understand that he irks me to no end. His face, his personality, his EVERYTHING! It amazed me how I lasted so long at Hogwarts with him being there. And it all started with him being a stupid guy, trying to woo some random girl. And then another one. And then another one. In ONE day. Yeah, I don't really like players.
About halfway to Hogwarts, I finally blew."Gah! Please, entertain me before I go insane!" I yell rolling over and onto the red carpet with a thud. Lily looks down at me from her book and sighed."Where are your book? And why aren't you in the Prefect part of the train?"I tilted my head slightly, now looking at her straight on."Are you implying that you want me gone?" I ask, sounding hurt.
Lily rolls her green eyes."Well, I kind of wanted to hang out with James..." I gasp."With James, rather than me? You're best friend?" I sit up, now sitting Indian style in front of her. Lily places her book beside her and looks down at me like a little kid."Well, you are, but why don't you come? Remus'll be there as well, of course." I point at my open mouth and gag. "Not if Sirius-lly deranged is there. Don't waste your breath on asking, Lil."
She stares down at me for a while, as if processing some secret information. She looks as if she's about to say something, but she doesn't."What is it?" I ask out of aggravation."Well," she starts, standing up. "I'm going to their compartment. And you're coming!" Before I can yell in protest, she's gripped my wrist tightly and flung us both out into the hallway.
I hit the train wall, then she begins to get my hand again."Nooo! I don't want to!" I yell, desperately trying to pry her little hands off of my wrists. She practically drags me down the isle, and then opens a door."Sorry for the aggressiveness," she whispers. She then pushes me into the room, and I land on a soft lap. "Well hello to you, too," a sultry voice said. I looked up. I jumped up in horror; I had landed in Sirius's lap! I was so going to get Lily back later on.
"You okay, Rowan?" Remus asks. I nod, but I could feel my cheeks flaring up in anger."Oh look, she's blushing."Sirius says, his tone mocking."Like I'd blush for you, Black? I'd rather receive a Dementor's Kiss than have anything to do with you!" I yell. He seems taken aback by my tone. I'll admit, I've never really yelled at him before. Just glared and said snarky comments. My tone sounded scary; I hate to say it, but I sounded like a Slytherin.
I bolt out of the compartment, pushing Lily out of the way. I can hear them laughing, as if what I said was all a joke. It wasn't. I really, really hate Sirius Black. But to them, well, all but Lily and Remus probably think that I'm just crushing hard. It's the total opposite.
I sigh as I grab my trunks. I turn to put them out in the hallway but a hand grabs my case."Why do you hate him so much?" It was Remus. I sigh, turning away. "Have you met him? I mean, seriously. He'a an annoying prat. Pardon my french, but he is."
"You don't know him like I do, Roe. He's a good guy," I shake my head."It's nice to see loyal people now and days, but he isn't. Can we get off the subject?" I ask. Remus nods, but he clearly wants to say more. He takes one of my suitcases."Where are they going?" He asks."Prefect's compartment." I say, looking up at him. He seems more sullen then last year. I'll ask him about it later.

The Prefect's compartment is slightly boring. Most people are talking in hushed tones. I'm the social outcast here. Maybe I should have just dealt with Sirius, just to have a good time before we arrive at Hogwarts. "Hello Rowan," I look up, hoping that it's someone that I want to start a conversation with. But it's just Galen Cox, the Head Boy for Ravenclaw.
"What do you want, Cox?" I ask, using my fist to hold up my head. He slides in a chair in front of me and stares at me, dead on. I glare in return. The looks in his eyes annoys me
