Harley's POV:
AN: Italics means thoughts in my story. He managed to kill two people in a matter of minutes. I guess anyone is capable of that if you think about it. Joker was not a monster though. He was troubled for sure, and he might have made a ton of bad choices, but he was no monster. Not to me anyway...He lived in a chemical plant. How awful. I wonder what it was like for him. When he was jealous of Olivia and the boy, Chris, when he hit Chris and he fell, when Chris and his father both died because of him. I wonder what he was thinking about, regrets, his father and the boy, Olivia, what to do, where to hide, who to trust, who were his enemies... I don't know. I want to know more, I want to know what made him this way, I want to help him... Why do I feel this way, why do I feel pity for such an awful person... Because it isn't his fault that he is the way he is, because he wasn't trying to kill his father and the boy, or maybe because most people find his story to be horrifying, they are afraid of him and what he will do next, they think he is a criminal but they don't know him. He is no monster, freak, or psychopath, he is just a man with a tragic story, an awful childhood, and terrible influences that made him this way. Why do I feel so strongly about this, why can I only think about this single patient, why... the answer is quite simple actually, Joker is my first real client, and I have been immature enough to fall in love with him.
