Like the shot at the beginning of every race, there was a boom of thunder to mark the start of this fight. I barely had time to gather composure before the witch had charged me. Violet's metal claws slashing at my neck, swing after swing i had dodged the predictable attacks, until a knee to the chin knocked me to the ground. Her left arm came down on my head, i rolled to the side and it struck the moist earth leaving holes in the field. "Tehehe i should really stop toying with you before you get away...sorry dear it's time to get serious." Violet said somberly, it was as if she almost had sympathy for me. The small girl stood straight and opened her mouth, thousands of  small silver blades streamed out, the swarm forming a buzzing silver mist around her.

'If i can just get some distance, maybe i could concentrate on bringing the sword out.' I thought looking down at the light gauntlet then back to her. I pooled the magic i felt in my body into my legs and blasted off towards the school building adjacent to the field. Moving at incredible speed i could see each rain drop fall slowly to the ground, my attention had been turned to the trippy feel so i slammed straight through the school's bottom floor window, i had barreled into a large cafeteria. The tables where kids ate were all folded and stacked against the walls. "The perfect arena don't ya think?" I hear violet say, she appeared in the doorway as lightning flashed. "You can blink this early on? Very impressive you're even faster than i, color me shook.". The witches razor swarm swept across the room and swallowed me.

It was as if i was in a tornado or blender rather. My clothing was getting shredded and i could no longer count the gashes and wounds in my flesh. Suddenly what felt like a fire filled my chest, i was glowing like a damn lightbulb.  My true power revealed itself at last, from the Depth's of my soul a brilliant golden flame exploded. The swarm was melted the minute the light touched them, like moths to the flame they withered. Dread crept across Violet's face, she stumbled back out the door and bolted off.

"Tides have turned in my favor bitch, I'm coming for you now" i roar embracing the holy flames. In my right hand was the dawnbreaker, the legendary blade emitted pure heat and sunlight, the hilt was made of gold and the blade of  transparent crystal. I was a living sun, my warmness healed the cuts but left the cafeteria scorched. Literally the whole room was melting. There was an itch in my back spreading rapidly. The areas around my shoulder blades got tense just before wings ripped out of my back, 10 foot silver feathered wings. " What the hell?!? I have wings ????? This is so unreal" i gawk in disbelief. Thinking of them as extra limbs i try a flap them. The force of my new appendages blew the glass out the window and ash was everywhere. I point the sword forward and fly out the door way.

Violet stood her ground by a field goal post. Purple bolts of magical energy crackled up and down her arms. " This took an unexpected turn, my lord send reinforcements" she says, and as if reacting to her words the energy shoots up the tall yellow goal post. Both prongs sparked with the magic, a portal was opening right in the center of the post. I landed gracefully a few feet away from the smug witch, Her dread became confidence with the opening of the new portal. "The Elite Knights have come to aide me...expect no mercy Blessed one." She said full of scorn and animosity. Lightning struck all around the football field attracted to the portal's magnetic barrier.

Two figures jumped down from the fracture in space. Both were 8 ft tall clad in dark grey armor. They had bucket helmets with two small slits to see from. The knights armor and tattered capes had many inverted crosses printed on them. They wielded on wickedly long straight sword and a big as rectangular shield.

"Oh what, you don't think i can kick your templar wannabes asses? What a edgy little punk you are pulling a stunt like this." I say slapping my knee and laughing... The cahones must have come with all the magical power i felt, normally I'd never speak this way. The Knights however didn't take kindly to my remark and flanked me from both sides. The violet witch extended those lacerated nails  and came at me dead on. I clasp the dawnbreaker with both hands and fold my wings in, i dip down and swing the mighty blade across the witches chest. Since she moved faster than the other it was her I'd strike first, both the elites rushed my sides at once and were struck in the head by my glorious silver wings jutting outward. I twist to my left and slice straight through both one of the knights legs. He topples over and i take flight.

"Sorry dear but play time is over" i mock the small witch, her faced turned red from frustration and blood spewing from the seared gash in her chest. I raised the dawnbraker to the sky, pushing all my magic into the blade remembering how i formed those fireballs in my hand i formed a great one at the tip of the sword. "Let the fires of the thousand suns incinerate your soul" i spit, firing the ball of pure holy energy at the ground. There was a flash..blinding even by my standards, the school and the field went up in a magnificent fireball. All that was left in the ash and rubble was the witch...somehow she survived. The portal however had collapsed and the elites turned to dust. "Good job Xander, you have exceeded expectations." Leo said, his spirit appearing in the air before me . I looked at the sword puzzled "why didn't that kill her?" i ask him. "It's because the flames can only incinerate forces of evil...she must not be fully gone." He replies and vanishes. 'Well, it looks like your gonna be here just a bit longer..."Violet."" I say to myself, swooping down on the unconscious girl and picking her up. The light around me had faded along with the sword yet my wings remained. With her in my arms i blasted off into the clouds heading home to get mother,...heading home to get answers.
