Chapter Eight: The Truth Comes Out

Alphys' Soul

(Alphys' POV)

Once she opened the door of the treehouse all that caught my attention was the huge white piano in the middle. There were anime pictures everywhere and some that I've never seen before and some I have. When I walked inside there was a bed in the far corner of the house. A table  and a few chairs also there was a laptop on the top of the table plugged into an outlet that I guess she made. I looked up at her and she was smiling and just looking around.

    "It's not much, but it's enough to help me through my hardest times. Whenever I'm stressed about work or school I come here to study and relax. When you get to know Sans and Papyrus better you'll want to come here too. They are both really loud and it's hard to concentrate on homework." Undyne said as she walked up to the piano and touched the a key. It was in great tune, so she likes to play the piano. 'This used to be my mother's piano. She would play a lullaby when I was younger and had nightmares. I finally figured out how to play it. My mother and father were both in the war. I can barely remember them since I was so young when the war broke loose. Tori found me when I was only 5 because she knew my parents very well and she and Asgore promised to look after me. I know what they looked like,but just seeing their faces hurts me. Sans and Papyrus lost their mother as well and Sans watched her die in front of them both. Sans had to take care of Pappy on his own. We all have our own tragic story that we don't like to talk about, but once you talk about them you feel better." Hearing hers, Sans and Papyrus story we all had our tragic childhood, but I know mine beats all of them because I killed my own family with my lack of selflessness.

     "Mine is very different f-f-from yours, Sans and Papyrus' story.  Do you know what Frisk's story is?" I asked her and she looked down at me with a frown and anger in her eyes. She sat on the couch and patted the seat beside her so I could sit down, so I did. She put her arm around me as I laid my head on her shoulder.

     "Frisk's story is, very sad and upsetting. She only told us once before and that's when she freed us." She looked up at the ceiling and frowned. 'She climbed Mt. Ebott to get away from her foster family. She wanted to kill herself because of all the things they did to her... they abused her and literally tried to kill her...she has so many scars on her body from the abuse. She felt like nobody would care if she disappeared...' She went quiet for a few minutes and sighed. 'She felt, like she didn't belong anywhere... so she climbed the mountain, but once she got too close to the edge she tripped and fell... she was scared and alone fully... she told me she wanted to just die there... but that didn't happen once Toriel found her hurt and bloody... she was scared. But as she went through the Underground she met all of us... she said if it wasn't for us she wouldn't have even been alive... she was finally happy and had people to care about her. So you see Alphys, she was like you...' I looked up at Undyne as she was looking at me. She frowned. 'If I ever see those people who hurt Frisk I will kill them, but I can't because I don't want another war... Can I ask you something Alphys? " She asked me and I nodded my head. 'Were you ever near an abyss a few years ago in Waterfall?' My eyes widen as I looked away from her. How did she know? 'Because I remembered when I was on my Guard run I noticed someone there just looking down. Crying and so close to jumping... I stopped them though because once they were about to jump I threw a spear close to them not hitting them."
