I awoke abruptly to the sound of an explosion outside of the cave.

'Crap is it storming again?' I think to myself, rubbing my tired eyes.
I waddle tiredly over to the entrance of the cave to see what was going on, I struggle to adjust my eyes to the bright light outside but once I do I see there were no clouds in the sky, and the loud noise I thought was thunder was actually a fight going on between what seems to be a wizard with an exceed and a large monster in the distance.

"Luna wake up!! There's another exceed over here!" I call out excitedly to my 8 month old friend, amazed by the fact there's another exceed so close by.

I hear her mumbling incoherently before yawning, scrambling to the entrance of the cave with me to see what the commotion is about.

"I don't see it, where i-HOLY CRAP!!" She yells out after realising what I was talking about.
"I KNEW YOU WEREN'T THE ONLY ONE!!" I joyfully yell holding my hand out for a high five. She quickly returns it and smiles at me like a child in a candy store, ecstatic that she had seen another exceed for the first time.
"Can I go meet it please!! I can't tell if it's a boy or a girl from here" she says, eyes sparking with excitement. I peer over her tiny body, she has a small crescent moon in the middle of her forehead, and her body, not that you can see it because her blanket is wrapped around her so she looks like a caterpillar, is all one colour.

"I think whoever they are, are busy trying to fight that big thing at the moment" I say giggling slightly.
"Maybe when they're done we can sneak up on them and talk to them then?" Luna says encouragingly.
Before I can reply the large monster swings it's tail directly at the mountain we are currently residing in, cutting straight underneath where we are sitting in our cave and causes us both to fall out.

"Crap Luna look out!!" I shout as it makes contact, destroying the cave, it's tail swings through and hits us both, throwing us hundreds of meters into the open sky towards the wizard and his friend. I let out a loud scream as we fly through the air, attracting the attention of the young wizard.

"(Y/N)!!" Screams Luna, she sprouts her wings, managing to steady herself. Panicked Luna tries to fly over to me to save me from falling to my death but her wings aren't strong enough to fight the wind that came from the monsters tail.

"LUNA!!" I scream back terrified as I fall, watching her get further and further away. I see her tears falling, blending in with the drops of blood from my face where I was cut from the falling rocks.

The monster screeches in pain however I am facing the other way while I fall so I am unable to see why. I feel numb from the fear, what a strange feeling.

'Is this the end? The day I turn 10 I lose my life' I think to myself, I feel an intense heat getting stronger and stronger the closer I get to hitting the ground. I close my eyes waiting for the pain but instead feel myself getting lifted up, slowing my fall through the air.

"(Y/N)!!!" Screams Luna once more, I quickly fling my eyes open seeing her getting closer. I gasp in confusion before I feel a pair of arms wrap around me, next thing I know I was landing on something lumpy, or should I say someone on the ground, rolling to a halt.
I hear a grunt in a manly voice and a small squeak as I land, we roll three times before coming to a stop, sliding along the floor however safely on the ground in a human pile. Luna comes flying to me crying, flinging herself on to my back with her arms wide open.
I sit up abruptly, very confused as to what just happened.

I feel warm?

I look down and see I am sitting on my saviour and instantly blush tomato red in embarrassment.
"A-ah! I'm sorry! Are you okay?" I ask quickly pushing myself off the stranger I landed on. I wipe my eyes to see clearly, it was the young wizard and his exceed we saw in the distance earlier.
