Chapter 1 - A Bus of Bullies

The bell rang for 3 o’clock and she began to run. She knew that if she didn’t get to the bus first she would not make it home with her pride intact. To bad Josie had skipped her last class. There she was waiting at the bus stop, evil smirk all ready plastered on her fat face. Who knows what scheme or plan she had in store today.

“Oi, bushy!” Josie said loud enough for everyone else at the bus stop to hear. “How was maths Bushy? Sit on another hedgehog?”

Hermione ignored her just like always but that doesn’t mean she would stop.

“So bushy,” Josie began again, changing tactics, “was Joey in maths today? Did he sit next to you? Where’s he taking you on your next big date?”

‘Of course he didn’t sit next to me,’ Hermione thought to herself. ‘He didn’t even look at me once.’

Joey Povolo, the cutest guy in the entire school, would never pay any attention to the buck-toothed nerd who had the world’s biggest crush on him. The worst mistake Hermione had ever made was bringing her diary to school. She knew Josie would find it but still she brought it anyway.

“No Josie, he wasn’t in my class, and he isn’t taking me anywhere because we are not dating,” Hermione replied as calmly as possible.

“That’s not what I heard Bushy I heard you were a total item.” As the mocking continued Hermione zoned out and began planning her weekend.

Today was her 11 birthday so there was definitely cause to be excited. Not that she would have anyone from school to celebrate with, but the most wonderful parents in the world would be there. They were planning to spend this all important day together at home. They would open presents, eat cake and just enjoying being a family.

When the bus finally arrived Hermione was so lost in her daydream that she didn’t even notice the snide remarks that were flying around her.
