One week since Adam was found dead in his apartment. Dead, his throat slit, wearing nothing but his boxers and a cloth tied around his eyes. Remove the cloth and you will find empty bloody sockets. The last emotion plastered across his face was one of pure terror.

Which didn't explain why the corners of his mouth were turned upwards into a smile.

Renee and Max had their backs to each other. Felix and Jordan had gone to one of the other rooms to search for the 'invisible murderer'. They had been some of Adam's best friends. They were on I.R.I.S together. They all met on the training grounds. They shared quarters. They ate together. They could barely believe what had happened. Adam had gone to theit quarters early after dinner. A scream had echoed through the barracks as they rushed to the building. And there they found him. Dead. Everyone assumed he was attacked by some pshyco, who bound and gagged him. They believed that after Adam had freed himself from his gag, he screamed for help and his captor slit his throat.

Which didn't explain why it sounded like a scream of pleasure.

"Renee, the room we were in is secure. No signs of life. Over." Felix's Swedish accent rang through Renee's ears as she and Max moved to the other room.

"No signs of life you say? We'll see about that!" Renee and Max loaded and readied their guns. The little green dots were swinging wildly on the two opposite walls, ready to shoot at anything and everything.

"Renee!! Get out of there NOW! It-- com- nan--..." Jordan's line went dead and ended with static.

"Jordan?" Max looked over his shoulder at Renee as she tapped her earpiece. "Sparklez? Are you there? Do you copy?" She began calling him by his nickname, repeating the question over again.

High pitched laughter rang through the empty warehouse, echoing through the hallways. It slowly turned from crazy giggling to maniacal laughter, that sent shivers down their spines. But it wasn't the way it grated on their ears that made them grip the gun harder than they ever needed to.

"Nannerman?" Max whispered the nickname of their dead friend.

"Sparklez? Do you copy? Sparklez? Sparklez?!" A cruel voice mocked Renee, high and insane. "You all are pathetic. You didn't realize the truth before me? And I was the 'dunce' of the group." The voice suddenly was by Renee's ear, making her shriek and shoot to her right.

"What the hell?! Adam, show yourself!" Max shouted into the faint green glow of the room, trying to cover up the fact that cold sweat was slowly trickling down his spine.

"You really don't know why you're here, do you?"The voice was above them, taunting the two below. They shot up, but the maniacal laugh faded away. By now the I.R.I.S agents were paranoid, heads whipping at any sound that passed them.

"Ada-hg!" Max's sentence was cut off as the shiv slid into his stomach, the kevlar body armor useless. Renee then saw the monster that had caused all of this. It was Adam, in the exact state that he was found dead. Nothing but boxers and the bloody blindfold, the corners of his mouth turned upwards into a maniacal smile.

Renee shot but he disappeared, the laughter fading as he went upwards. Max dropped to the ground, blood slowly pooling around his body.

"Max!" Renee ran to him, all thoughts of self defense forgotten. She knew that this was probably going to be her last night alive, but she had to make sure her friend was okay.

"Behind you!" Renee whipped around at Max's warning, gun pointed and ready, only to be met with the point of the shiv being pressed into the skin of her head.

Max stared in horror as the body of his female companion hit the ground, face plastered with the emotion of pure shock. He looked up at the murderer, not even registering the pain pulsing through his body. All he knew was rage.

"You... YOU!"

"Oh don't worry Max. You'll be seeing them soon enough." Max shot, piercing Adam's stomach with the cold lead bullet. The murderer's grin was wiped from his face, as he pulled the pin on the grenade. The Hidden dropped to the ground, face first as the grenade bounced and rolled to a stop in front of Max's eyes.

This is the end.
