I have a theory

Maybe he was scared
of something
It seems like the
two actions aren't related
But fear
and getting rid
of things you need
can overlap
You're proof of that.
Sometimes
when a person
loses a limb
it's like
they were never connected
in the first place
Like the leg or arm or ear
was never a part
of their body
Maybe that's
how I am to you.
Some people
have phantom sensations
like the leg's still there.
Sometimes
it takes people
years
to realize
just how much they
needed that
damn
leg
