"What are you doing?" Harry asked Adalynn. The two were lounged on Harry's couch, Harry watching TV and Adalynn with her legs on his lap, typing on her laptop.
"I'm just checking grades...I had a test yesterday." She mumbled.
"How did you do?" Adalynn shrugged in response to Harry.
"I did okay." She said. Harry held out his hands for the laptop.
"Can I see?" He asked. Adalynn shrugged again and handed him the computer. He looked at the computer for a while with scrunched eyebrows, making sense of the numbers. "You did okay?? You only got one wrong! That's fantastic!" Adalynn shrugged again.
"I got one wrong." She mumbled.
"Only one!" Harry looked at her with confusion.
"But I missed it." She said steadily, nodding with each word. Harry scoffed.
"You're brilliant, Adalynn. One wrong isn't bad. That's fantastic." Harry argued. Adalynn just shrugged again. Harry shook his head and looked back to the computer, noticing that Twitter was open on another tab. He figured Adalynn wouldn't mind, so he clicked on it. Harry immediately went to Adalynn's profile and posted a tweet.
@Harry_Styles is like 12 times funnier than i ever will be and is adorable.
He watched as a bunch of replies came in. Adalynn had definitely gotten a burst of new followers once they found out Harry was her boyfriend. Adalynn didn't like all the new followers, but Harry found her spending a lot more time on the site. Harry kept watching the new tweets, Adalynn was definitely following a lot of directioners. Looking closer, Harry noticed that most of them were posting hate about Adalynn. Some of the accounts she followed were dedicated to only posting hate on her. He couldn't believe this was going on, he had known there was hate, but some of the stuff being posted was just disgusting.
"Why are you following all of these accounts?" Harry asked, turning the laptop towards her. Adalynn sat up a little.
"I um. I started following directioners when we first started dating. Because I felt like I should support your band's fandom." She said calmly. It was true, she hadn't been following as many directioners before Harry. Mostly because she didn't use twitter often.
"But why are you following all of these hate accounts?" He pressed. Adalynn shrugged, she was a shrugger. "No Adalynn. Don't pretend like it doesn't matter. You're on twitter a lot now. Have you been like...trying to read hate?"
Adalynn sighed, "Harry it's not like that. I've just been trying to keep up. I was curious as to what the fans thought of me so I followed a few accounts. S-some of them ended up to be hate accounts. It doesn't bother me. I might be freaked out by people in real life, but I can handle the internet." She nodded, "I-it doesn't hurt me at all." Harry stared at her, studying her face.
"You stuttered."
"What?"
"Nothing. Nothing. Just..." Harry set down her computer on his coffee table. He took Adalynn's legs off of his and scooted closer to her; he took her waist in his hands and pulled her onto his lap. Adalynn blushed a little looking down at Harry's legs. "Please unfollow them? And stop paying attention to them? And...if something happens that...that hurts your feelings...or bothers you...can you tell me?" Adalynn sighed.
"Harry..." She whined. "Lots of things bother me. I can't just call you every time a cashier wears a band tee sponsoring a band I don't like."
"Yes you can." Harry smiled. He took Adalynn by the waist again and turned her so that she was facing him, her legs on either side of him. She gave him an exasperated look, which Harry returned with a smile. He glanced down before looking up at her eyes and kissing her jaw. He continued to kiss her jaw and to her neck. Adalynn sighed with content.
"I'll decide what bothers me enough that you need to know about, okay? Don't worry about me, Harry."
"I always worry about you." He mumbled, putting his forehead on Adalynn's shoulder. She turned her head and kissed his cheek.
"I love you." She smiled.
"I love you too." He said quietly, hugging her. "Do you have class tomorrow? Or work?" Harry asked. Adalynn shook her head and smiled.
"I forgot to tell you. I'm in between class sessions. School doesn't start back up until after Christmas. Aaand. I have the week off from work, because Hayley has a new employee who she's trying to teach and stuff."
"That's great! Now you're forced to spend all your time with me." Harry chuckled, "Anyway, I was wondering if you would come with me to a party tomorrow..."
"A...A party?" Adalynn leaned back to look at his face. Harry nodded slowly. "I'm...Not very good with parties, Harry. You know that. I almost had a panic attack when we met."
"I know babe but I'll be with you the entire time and-"
"That's what Hayley said about the party we met at." Adalynn cut him off. Harry sighed.
"I prooommissee. I pinkie promise, I won't leave you. A few of my friends want to meet you...And then we'll just hang out...And then come home. Please?" Harry pleaded, hooking his pinkie with Adalynn's.
Adalynn sighed. "Okay. Fine." Adalynn didn't know what she was getting herself into.
