Country love
Prologue"Audrey Ison," the principal announced. I got up out of my seat and made my way up to the stage to collect my graduation certificate.
Looking down at my outfit, a denim dress that Julie made me buy, with my Ariat cowgirl boots. I laughed to myself at the face my mum would have made if she saw me dresses like this. Ah my mum, she died of breast cancer when I was 14 just after Christmas, I was at my uncles farm in Tamworth Australia. After her death, I was left with out any parents as my dad died also died of cancer, when I was 10, I moved to Houston Texas to live with my godparents, Julie and Shayne. I have no idea why they shipped me over seas when my uncle was still alive in Australia.
It has been 4 long but great years, did the high school rodeo circuit in breakaway roping, team roping and Barrel racing, some times other things like goat tying e.c.t. Julie and Shayne lived on what one over here would call a ranch, much like a large farm or stud back home, so I could have a horse and such.I shook the hand of the principal and she congratulated me. I then walked back to my seat. I got the marks that I wanted, I worked so hard to get the score so I could become a vet. Now that I'm 18, I plan on going home to Australia to study for the next years. I'm going to miss this place and Julie and Shayne.
My plane was leaving tomorrow at 9 in the morning. The majority of my stuff was shipped of a week ago, so it would be there when I get home.
Which means, Ima comin' home uncle Joe.
Brooks POV
Its got to be about 40*C and loading hay isn't exactly the best thing to be doing, but I'm hear for a reason, Joe is paying me good money, and he has for the past 3 years. The radio was blaring, And I heard a car coming up the drive way. I look out through the window of the barn and I see a ford pick up truck, American style, lifter kit and all.
Just as the car stops the radio starts to play She's country.
"I'm talking true blue, out in the woods, down home country, "
The door of the pick up truck opened, And out stepped a beautiful brunet with long tan legs showing of well in her cut of jeans and her cowboy boots
"She's a hot little number, in her pick up truck, daddies sweet money done jacked it up," roared the radio. The irony of this song was killing me.
The chick walked around to the tray of the pick up and pulled out a guitar case and a small duffle bag.
"She's country, form the song she plays to the prayer she prays, thats the way she was born and raised, she ain't afraid to stay country, brother shes country."
And my the lord all mighty this girl was country. Just the way she walked.
She made her way to the house.
"Ma'am, can I help you,' I shout jumping out of the hay loft.
" Brooks is that you?" The girl shouted back at me with a southern drawl. Then I really looked at her, she looked so familiar, its on the tip of my tongue, Audrey!
"Audrey!? Is that you?" I said walking over to her,
She dropped her bags and ran over to me and engulfed me into a hug.
'well Hello to you to,' I said hugging her back, call me crazy but it had been a long 5 years with out her and it felt good to hold her in my arm again.
