Angus was sitting in his bedroom wondering what to do. He lives with his mother as his only company in their mansion. Angus grew up only knowing her mother, he never made any friends, he didn't have any siblings, and his father died a long time ago. He did everything with his mother and his mother did everything with him. He gained knowledge from the millions of books he read in the library, he gain strength by running around in their big grassy field and playing kickball. And the only entertainment and socializing was with his mother. Life had gone well for them... until one day Angus couldn't find his mother anywhere, she wasn't in her usual spots and he began to grow worried. "Where have you gone" he thought to himself. He searched through every room until he got to her bedroom. He peaked inside and saw her mother lying on the bed with a damp towel on her forehead. She was lying here with no expression on her face. She turned her head and made eye contact with Angus. "Are you ok mom?" Angus said, "I'm not feeling well today Angus" she replied wearily. "Why don't you go play kickball outside, it's a nice sunny day" she said "I will be fine tomorrow..." there was never a tomorrow, she only sat in her bed every day and would only get up to use the bathroom. Angus had to cook her meals and give her medicine but she looked sicker every day. One day as Angus was bringing her mother a glass of water  she said "Angus... can you do me a favour" she said quietly. "Sure ma" Angus replied, "My sickness can't be cured with these medicines but I know that one Golden apple for the Golden Apple Tree can cure my fever, can you go to the world beyond our mansion and get one for me?" Angus froze. He had heard scary stories about the outside world were humans and monsters live together, some monsters were good but some were vile. And he knew where the Golden Apple Tree was but the journey would be long and tiring. "Of course, anything to help" he said confidently, "thank you Angus" she said.
