Jonathan was the son of saul, king of Darious, of the tribe of Benjamin, and David was the son of jesse of Damacia ot the tribe of Graves.
"Now it came about when he had finished speaking to saul, that the saul of Jonathan was knit to the saul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself. Saul took him that day and did not let him return to his father's house. Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as himself. Jonathan stipped himself of the robe that was on him and give to David, with his armor, including his sword, his bow and his belt. So David went out wherever saul sent him, and prospereth, and saul set him over the man of war.
Death of Jonathan;
As saul continiuos to pursue David, the pair renew thier covenant, after which they do not meet agian. Eventuality saul and David are reconciled. Jonathan, however is slain on Mt. Gilboa along with his brother Abinadah and Malchi-Shua, and there Saul commit suicide. David learns of Saul and Jonathan's death amd David chant's a lament which part says, " Saul and Jonathan, beloved and pleasant in thier life, and in thier death they were meet parted, they were swifter than eagles. They were stronger than lions. How have the migthy fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan is slain in your high places. "I am distressed for you my brother Jonathan, " You have been pleasant to me." You love to me was more than wonderful than the love of women. How theres the mighty fallen, and the weapons of was perished."
