"Derp, what are you looking at?" I look back at Ian, who was looking at me in confusion.

"W-What?" I ask, glancing back at Kaylie, but...she wasn't there.

"Are you alright? Maybe you should lay down...." He says, wrapping both arms around my waist before pulling me down to lay beside him.

I squirmed in his grip but I felt like I was being held down, and not just by Ian. I felt tired and I couldn't breath, the darkness in the room was closing in on me quickly.

I quickly sit up in my bed, gasping for air. I felt like someone was choking me not long ago, I could still feel hands around my neck, I shiver at the thought. I look around, Ian no where in sight. Slowly turning my body to get up, I take a moment to think since I realize the room had somehow changed. It was smaller, a bed, a small stand, and a dresser was the only thing in the room, everything being a plain white color. The walls were the same color as everything else, the floor was the same except it was a soft carpet. There was no windows, but the bright ceiling light above me gave the room plenty of light to see.

Hesitantly, I stand up, go over to the door, and open it. The halls were a mixture of white and gray, it all looked boring. I remember the other halls at least had some potted plants and a few other colors. I flinch slightly as someone suddenly puts an arm around me, but relax a bit when I look over and see Sshadee standing beside me.

"I think it's time we had a talk kid." He says.

We start walking down the hallway, nurses pass us by, but it doesn't seem like they even notice Sshadee.

"What do you want to talk about?" I ask, looking up at him.

He pulls me closer, "I could tell you a lot, but I'd only confuse you. Listen, a lot of things don't make sense in life...and sometimes you just have to except how something is, even if you don't want to believe it, understand?"

I stare at the nurses who look at me confused, some even look concerned, "What are you trying to say...?"

I look at Sshadee as he sighs, "Do you recognize any of these people?"

"You're changing the subject." I say, looking around at the nurses anyways.

The answer was no, not exactly anyways. I didn't know a lot of these people, yet here they are, looking at me like they care and know me. But, there was three people I recognized, kind of...I remember walking down the hall, it was after taking those pills, I think. I saw them, the girl with a weird accent, she's still holding that tablet and yelling at it. The girl that was throwing condoms at David, she's here. And last but not least, the shy girl with the clipboard, I remember she waved at me, but I didn't wave back.

"Alright...yes, I do recognize some, well...three." I answer, looking up at Sshadee.

"You've known them for awhile now, they visit you everyday." He says, not even looking at me.

I blink slowly, "Wait, what!?" Some people look at me strangely when I yelled.

Sshadee glances around, "Keep your voice down."

"Why do you do that?" I ask, looking around.

He stays silent for a moment before saying anything, "What do you mean."

"I don't know, I feel like you purposely try not to show emotion or something."

Sshadee suddenly stops walking, making me stop too, "This isn't about me, this is about you."

"What about me...?" I say, backing away from him.

He sighs, "I should leave."

I glare at him, "You're changing the subject again!" I don't know why, but I was so angry and frustrated at him that I pushed him, and of course in response he pushes me up against the wall and growls at me like some kind of animal.

"Listen kid, I can't help you, only you can help yourself, you need to snap the fuck out of it alright!? You're close, you're so very close, but something's holding you back." He gets closer to me, "You're smart, you can figure this out..."

"Figure what out!? I don't understand!" I yell at him, trying to push him away.

He lets me go and backs away, shaking his head in disappointment, or shame....or both.

"You're digging yourself a very deep grave...and I don't know if you can get out at this point. Believe me, I so badly want to just tell you everything, but I can't."

I look down at the floor to avoid looking at him, "What do I do...."

"Just keep taking those pills of yours, and hope for the best."

"How is that going to he-" I look up, but he's not there anymore.

The girl that threw condoms at David comes over to me, cautiously, she grabs my arm and leads me somewhere, she tells me her name is Turtle, strange name. Turtle takes me to the main room and sets me down in a chair before leaving, only to come back a few minutes later with a checker's board and a bag of checkers. She sets the board in front of me, smiles, then leaves. Slightly confused, I start setting up the checker game.

"You need help?" I look up to see Ian sitting across from me, I didn't even notice him sitting there.

"S-Sure." I stutter a bit.

Ian smiles and helps me set the game up. We play checkers for awhile, just the two of us, talking about whatever random thing came to mind. It was fun.

Turtle came back after a few hours and told me to take my medicine, except it wasn't like the other nurses, she was really nice about it, so I did what she said. She seemed surprised on how quick I was with stopping the game to take the pill, as if she expected me to refuse to take it.

Ian smiles at me when I take the pill, it was one of those, 'I'm proud of you' smiles. After that, we continued our game.

I honestly didn't realize how late it was till I looked out the window, the sun slowly setting in the sky. Turtle and two other girls come over to Ian and I, telling me it's time to put the checkers game away. Any other time, I would refuse to do that, but I was really tired for some reason, so I didn't hesitate to slowly pick up all the checker pieces. Ian leaves without saying anything, which confuses and concerns me at the same time.

When I finish gathering all the pieces to the game, one of the girl's that came with Turtle takes it, probably to put it away. I sigh before leaving to go back to my room, the three girls follow me till I'm in my room, for some reason, they tell me good night, before leaving.

That was....weird....yet, familiar...? Somehow...
