The Slumber

I only remeber one thing, it's not even all that clear but I belive it was before the doctor. But it's very special memory to me, I was playing with my two brothers in the snow.

My hands were so tiny I remember that because my mittens were too big for me and kept falling off. I loved the snow, I liked the feeling of it crinkling under my small feet. They were much smaller than my brothers. I have forgotten their names, but I know that was a very long time ago. That might be from the doctor's tempering.

Which is why all I see now is the cool gray, concrete of my, no our cells. We are all sisters and brothers down here... In this place. There were many of us. Now they turn a sick faint pale, they usually don't last long when they get like that. The doctor tries day and night to keep the lot of us alive but the doctor makes this smile now... and it gives all of us the feeling of...

We just...

I just dont like the scars, the holes, they way doctor is tearing us and riping us apart on our bodies. Some had dreams of seeing the sky, or their moms and dads.  We all had held onto each other, for support, and trust... But now we only do one thing. thats is look at the door. Their is nothing in this small room, nothing no bed or blanket. There was a toilet, but I'm not hungry, just thirsty.

I'm always thirsty

"It's time for your injections J8s73r" Doctor said, knocking on my cell door. Sometimes Doctor smiles reaching for my hand. The doctor is nice to me until we get to the 'red room'.

"How do you feel J8s73r? What do you feel?" Doctor asked, their hair was a brown when i first met them now its a little grayer.

"Im thirsty doctor, can i have the juice please?" The doctor swayed back pulling a clear shot vial.

"You can after this" the doctor pulled my small arm. The small thin metallic went under my skin, the pinch of skin didn't bother me. I had been so used to it, scars dotted my arms of needles continually going in my arm.

"Now can I have it?" I asked, doctor had handed over a packet with a dark sweet smelling liquid inside. I bit into it using my teeth to tear into it, then like some foul leech I sucked it dry. I felt the crimson drink gush into my throat, giving me energy in my body.

Doctor walked me back to my cell, he kept saying I was one of few that were apdapting super well to the serum. Whatever  that ment, it was no concern  of mine for the time.

I had fallen asleep, resting my head on the hard, cold, and grey concrete. My body felt tired, achey, worst of all drained. My eyes faught against my will and my internal rebellion endend as swiftley as it came. An ancient memory came to me, like the rare kiss of a butterfly it dances on my dreams.

"Momma?" I asked, looking at her soft face, her long black hair waving in the freezing breeze. Like my short black hair. The eyes as my father, a cool blue that ocean shows. Or thats what she's said.

"Hush, now is not time to speak. The bell of Yahlabah has rung." She shooed me away . I followed her slow rocking movements. When the time came our monks in purple came down to sprinkle blessed water on us. It was a sign that we are done cleansing our hearts. We returned to our cabin, a small but fair home.

"Momma?" I asked again. Her sweet exterior shifted to what lurked in her. Grief, a savagery that takes hold of us the people. She swung her thin and frail arms. I cried, tears jumped from my eyes. "Forgive me!"

"I don't want you to be taken!" She whipped her arms around my neck, cacooning her self around me, silk like dread overcame me. "I won't let-"

I awoke, startled. I looked down to see the cold cement wet, I touched my face. Damp my skin was, I recognized that thise tears, the memory, the dream the nightmare was true. True to the extent it could be.

"Jasper!" A voice shouted. I turned to look, nothing was shouting my name. At least not in this room. I felt something I've never felt before.
