|||| PROLOGUE ||||

Melanie and I are literally as close as anyone can get we've known each other since sandbox days and we've been stuck at the hip since then. We just finished Highschool and decided that the best thing for us was to take the year off to help us figure out what we'd wanna do and just venture the world. Growing up in the city our main concerns have always been related to traffic and the latest fashion. But there's a whole world that Mel and I don't know and there's no better time than now. There's nothing nobody can throw us for when we're together. I mean there's been a lot of sightings of strange things going on lately. But I'm pretty sure it's just rumors. Anyways our first stop happens to be the small town of Pits county.

"Cat that is so corny let's just leave and call everyone when we get off the train"

"Yeah call after a 3hr ride to find out our mothers are in the hospital due to the heart attacks we gave them due to lack of information on our whereabouts I think not"

"You're such a drama queen that won't happen"

"Okay okay let's just go before everyone get's back Cat"

"Cat I'm telling you someone or something is following us" I said following Catherine's lead through this forest

"Listen, Mel, no one is following us you're just being paranoid that's what all that Lifetime, 20/20, 60 seconds, Snapped, and the ID Channel do to you I told you to stop watching that stuff it's making you paranoid"

"You ever think I wouldn't be so paranoid if you did have out in the forest at 11:00 at night"

"Don't blame me you offered to come"

"No I tried to talk you out of it and I ended up here with you and anyways that stuff is the difference between me being aware of my surroundings vs. me not knowing shit like you " I'm telling you this girl really knows how to push my buttons

"Why do I need to know anything about my surroundings if we're always together what you know, I know duh" She said as she flashed me a smile and chuckled

"Yeah Yeah -" I was cut off by the crushing of leaves I immediately looked over at Melanie butt she was no longer by my side

"Melanie" I called but no response

"Mel" I tried again this time basically screaming to the top of my lungs

"Melanie Julia Wattson I am not playing come out" The crushing of leaves grew louder this time

I looked over my shoulder and saw a funny looking shadow that didn't look like the closest thing to Melanie

I started to inch back slowly and it started to inch closer as it started to move closer

"CAT RUN" And just like that my feet took off I had no clue where I was going but I know I needed to move

"MELANIE WHERE ARE YOU" I called out a few minutes had passed and I was now lost, I have someone chasing after me, and I had lost my best friend

I had mentally gave myself a high-five

I had heard familiar sobbing from a distance following it I found a shadow by a tree

"Melanie is that you"

"CATHERINE RUN THIS IS A TRAP RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK"

"What? Are you crazy I'm not leaving you here" I said walking forward

"Please Cat Please" She said as she hung her head low

"I'm not leaving you" I stated

"Please Cat Please" A voice mocked

I then felt a presence behind me that was just way to close for comfort leaving stuck in my tracks

And in the snap of a finger this guy jumped down from the tree she rested on and stood in front of her blocking my view

"Love you broke the deal we agreed that you were just to sit here and look pretty but then you opened that mouth of yours" He said pulling her up by her hair and she cried out fighting him back

I could feel the anger boil inside of me "Get off of her" I yell charging after him

I had only managed to get a few steps in before the presence that was behind me was now in front of me

Okay, scratch that towering over me this guy was like what 6'6 and I was what maybe 5'6

"Ah ah ah where do you think you're going" He said with a menacing smirk

"Get away from me you freak"

"Cat maneuver 503" After she said that a smirk grew on my face similar to the one the guy in front of me had on before he had heard what Mel said

"What the hell is th-" They both started sync as Mel and I hit them in their throat as hard as we could and kicked them where the sun doesn't shine as we took off as our lives depended on it and something told me that they did
