Netti and Spencer meet in the market place.

"Any sign of people?" Netti asked Spencer.

"No, the town is completely empty. What do we do now?" Spencer looked around. The town was silent. No laughter, no chatting. Just quiet.

"We should try to find the rest of the verses for the geas." Netti sighed wondering how on earth something like this could happen.

"Where do we look?" Spencer asked.

"Why don't we check out the other town?" Netti pointed towards the walled up town.

"How? The whole town is surrounded by a huge wall. Besides don't you remember the witch who died, the one we found in the cave?" Spencer looked into Netti's eyes. "What if the towns people are still prejudiced? I could stand it if something like that happened to you!"

Netti looked at him. Her heart pounding. She didn't realize Spencer cared about her so much. "We'll be careful. I promise."

Netti and Spencer are walking around the wall.

"Do you see a way in?" Netti whispered as she ran her fingers along the wall.

"No...wait what is that?" Spencer asked quietly pointing to a flash of light on the ground in the crevice of the wall.

They walk quietly over to it, avoiding the guards patrolling the top of the wall. "It's a trap door!" Netti smiled at Spencer. "Let's see where it leads."

The hole was dark. Spencer and Netti felt their way around. "I don't suppose you brought a torch with you?" Netti asked into the darkness.

"No, should we go and return later with one?"

"We're here now, might as well keep going. Give me your hand so we don't get separated," Netti felt around the darkness until a warm, strong hand grasped hers.

They walked in the darkness for a few minutes. "Look," Netti waved her hand in the air. Pale skin could be barely seen. "I think it's getting lighter."

"Maybe there is a way out up ahead," Spencer thought out loud.

They continued walking. A metal door came into veiw. The light was brighter now.

"Another secret room?" Netti laughed. "You think people would try to find better places to hide things. And how on earth are the torches still burning?"

"Must be magic," Spencer said as they opened the door. Inside was a small room. Book shelves covered one side. A chest and table and chairs on the other. Straight ahead was another door.

"You check the shelves I will look in the chest," Netti said as she walked towards the chest.

Spencer looked through the books on the shelves. "I think I found something," he said grading a leather bound book.

"Do you want me to read it?" Netti asked.

"Sure," Spencer handed her the book.

"My grandmother is gone. Run out of town by these horrid people. I found this secret passage by everytime I go to leave the guards are to close. I fear that they will find me eventually. Tomorrow I will try to make my escape. Incase I don't make it I leave this here in hopes that some will find it and not destroy it. A verse has been passed down in my family. It is the fifth verse of ten. 'There you'll stay', that's it" Netti put the book in her inventory.

"Should we go back?" Spencer asked a little afraid of the answer he knew Netti would give.

"I want to go through the other door. Maybe it leads into town. There could be more clues inside," She started walking towards the other door.

"If there is any sign of trouble we leave," Spencer insisted as he walked up to Netti.

   "Yes, I agree."

They walked through the door. It was an exact copy of the previous corridor. The light faded the further the walked. Darkness enveloped them. Netti felt Spencers hand wrap around hers.

A few minutes went by. Very dim light came from above. "I think I see something," Spencer moved his hand along the wall. "There is a ladder here. Should we go up?"

"Yes but quietly," Netti answered. "We don't know what's up there."

Spencer went up first with Netti right behind him. The dim light got a little bright. "There is a trapped door here," Spencer whispered.

"Let's keep going." Netti told him.

Spencer pushed open the trap door. The hinges squeezed with every movement. "Did you hear that?" Netti heard a male voice ask.

   "Hear what?" Another voice answered.

Spencer helped Netti out of the trap door. "Find some place to hide, quick!" Spencer whispered furiously to Netti.

They looked around. The light was like that of a full moon sing down on them. The trap door opened up next to a part of the wall surrounding the town. Two figures came towards them.

   "Stop! Intruders!"
