The Fry Dilemma

Great Now Everybody Is Happy But Me!

After years of Max and Andy flirting and me being the third wheel. I decided it was fry time.

So I put my shoes on and grab my bag and leave quietly, not that that they would notice me leaving anyways. I saw a Mcdonalds on the way here and it was close to the apartments. So I walked there and ordered a Chicken McNugget meal. I was on my phone waiting for my meal when I heard my number being called.

"Order 170 and 171, come up to the first cash register please." The employee called.

I looked down and 171 was on my receipt, so I walked up to the counter expecting to get my meal so I can go home. I see a guy about my age walking up with me. 

"What's the problem Jerry?" The guy by me asks, his voice deep. I turned to look at him and when I did, I stared at him like a stalker. He cleared his throat and I snapped out of it glad that I had brown skin so I couldn't blush.

"J-Jerry?" I repeated confused. How the fries does he know his name?

"Well... I don't know how to put this but, we ran out of fries." He said nervously ignoring me.

"RAN OUT OF FRIES" We said shouting at the same time. How do you even run out of fries.

He flinched and then someone came up behind him and whispered in his ear then looked at us and ran out to the back of the room.

"N-no uh we can o-only give out one for the meal you guys want" The employee croaked.

"My orders first so I get my fries first" I said smugly.

"Since I know you Noah I wanted you two to work this out" He said ignoring me again. He then gave us both are orders without fries and put the large fry between us and walked slowly out the room.

"There is nothing to work out, I'm getting it" He demanded.

"Excuse me, again I say my orders first so I get it first." I say smug and turn to grab the fries and hold it eating one.

He mumbles something under his breath and the next thing I know, he grabs the box of fries in my hand and walks out without a word.

I stood there thinking about what just happened. Then grabbed my meal, without my fries I might add. I slowly walk out the door of the restaurant ad walk to my apartments. I put my key to the apartment, turn the key and opens the door. Andy and Max both look up and stare at me. I didn't say anything and just walk to the couch and just stand there with my jaw hanging. Andy came up to me and closes my mouth. She then grabs my Mcdonalds bag and gets my chicken nuggets out.

"Where is your drink?" She points out not noticing that I was still in shock.

Max notices so he asks "What's wrong"

I didn't answer him so he sits me down on the stool by the counter and blows on my face. I snap out of my daze and slap Max in the face. "Ouch what was that for" He playfully whined. Well at least I thought it was playful.

"I'm going to bed" I muttered sadly.

I walk to my room sad that I don't have fries. I fall flat face in my bed almost about to sleep but then remembered I had to call Lay. I dialed her number on my phone and put it on speaker.

"Look who decided to call me" Layla sneered.

"Lay, I'm sorry I was getting settled in and forgot to call you until now" I explained to her.

"Is something wrong, you sound like you've died from lack of fries and came back." She said worried.

"Well something like that" I said sadly.

"Okay I-what's wrong?" She deadpanned.

I explained to her what happened in McDonald's.

"Number one... is he cute?" She asks cheekily.

"I...I... That's not the point!" I exclaim into the phone blushing. "The point is that I can't enjoy today without fries." I dramatized.

"Then why don't you just go get some more fries?" Layla said with frustration clear in her voice. Then she continued "Never mind I know you're too lazy and scared to do that, anyways I'm gonna go now bye!"

I sigh and look up for a moment. Then decide to get something to eat from the fridge. I walk in the living room and see Max and Andy making out.

"Great, now everybody is happy but me" I pout as I walk back to my room.
